G.Skill showcases their latest DDR5-10600 memory kit with impressive data transfer rates and compatibility with AMD's budget Ryzen 5 8500G processor at Computex.

  • Impressive 10,600 MT/s data transfer rate
  • Cherry-picked DDR5 memory devices
  • High-end Asus ROG Crosshair X670E Gene motherboard

G.SKILL, a memory module maker, is making waves at Computex with their latest offering. They have launched a dual-channel memory kit that boasts the highest performance to date. This DDR5 kit is capable of an impressive 10,600 MT/s data transfer rate, significantly surpassing the speeds of current memory modules on the market.

The showcased kit is a 32 GB Trident Z5 RGB kit, featuring Cherry-picked DDR5 memory devices. It operates in a DDR5-10600 mode with CL56 62-62-126 timings and requires higher voltages than standard modules. Although the demoed DIMMs have been running all day in a warm room, they have not been subjected to demanding applications or stress tests.

What makes this demonstration particularly interesting is the choice of processor. G.Skill has opted to use AMD’s Ryzen 5 8500G processor, which is typically found in budget systems. The motherboard of choice is the high-end ASUS ROG Crosshair X670E Gene, and the APU is cooled using a custom Liquid Cooling system. The Asus ROG Crosshair X670E Gene motherboard’s two memory slots are ideal for achieving high data transfer rates, making it a perfect match for the DDR5-10600 dual-channel kit.

While it seems unlikely that users would pair an expensive DDR5-10600 memory kit with such an affordable processor, it is intriguing to see G.Skill showcasing the performance potential of their upcoming modules with an AMD APU.

As for availability, the DDR5-10600 kit is not expected to hit the market anytime soon. Currently, G.Skill’s fastest DDR5 kit is the DDR5-8400 offering. The DDR5-10600 will be released several speed bins later as G.Skill needs to thoroughly test its compatibility with various CPUs and ensure stability.

It’s worth noting that both AMD and Intel are set to launch new desktop processors later this year, including the Ryzen 9000-series and Arrow Lake processors, respectively. G.Skill will likely focus on fine-tuning its DDR5-10600 and other high-end kits to complement these new CPUs.
