In a recent update, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora has received a significant patch, titled Title Update 3, which brings over 150 fixes and adjustments to the game. Developed by Massive Entertainment, this update addresses various aspects of the game, including technical improvements, user interface enhancements, balancing tweaks, and improvements to both main and side quests. The development team took into account feedback from the community to ensure a better gaming experience for players.

Additionally, a subsequent patch, Title Update 3.1, was released on March 7, further refining the game with additional fixes. Players can find the complete list of improvements included in both updates on the official website.

Among the technical improvements introduced in Title Update 3 are new motion blur settings. Players now have more control over the overall strength of motion blur, with the ability to adjust camera motion blur separately from object motion blur. XBOX Series X|S and PS5 users also have access to a motion blur option specifically designed for the ‘Performance’ graphics mode.

Furthermore, AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 3 (FSR 3) has been enhanced in this update, addressing any artifacts that may have been present. Specifically, FSR 3 artifacts on the user interface have been fixed when frame generation was enabled.

PC players will also benefit from improvements to the benchmark feature. Issues related to FPS tracking when using FSR 3 frame generation have been resolved, as well as inaccuracies in CPU tracking reporting low CPU utilization on Windows 10. The benchmark now provides additional information in the generated results file.

For those interested in the patch sizes, Title Update 3 weighs in at 7.1 GB for PS5, 9.4 GB for Xbox Series X/S, and 9.6 GB for PC. Title Update 3.1 is smaller in size, with a download of 1.7 GB for PS5, 2.7 GB for Xbox Series X/S, and 2.37 GB for PC.

To showcase some of these improvements in action, Ubisoft News will be hosting a live stream of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora on March 13. The stream will be available on Ubisoft’s Twitch channel at 10 AM PT.

FSR: AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) is a type of rendering technique that looks to boost framerates in games and enable quality high-resolution gaming. It is an software upscaling technology, designed to improve the performance of games without loss of image quality and graphical detail. It works by rendering frames at a lower resolution and then using an open-source spatial upscaling algorithm to make the game look as though it's running at a higher resolution13. It is different from Nvidia's DLSS, which uses machine learning and temporal upscaling to achieve similar results. FSR is part of AMD's FidelityFX image toolkit and does not require specific training or special-purpose logic within the GPU. AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) scales across a broad spectrum of new and older products, including integrated graphics, and is optimized for AMD RDNA and AMD RDNA 2 architecture-based Radeon RX 6000 and RX 5000 Series graphics cards. FSR is also supported on select NVIDIA graphics cards.
