Nixxes Software, in collaboration with Sucker Punch Productions, is set to release Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut on PC, marking the first time a Sucker Punch title will be available on the platform. This critically acclaimed open-world action adventure has garnered widespread praise, and now PC players will have the opportunity to experience Jin’s captivating story.

The PC version of Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut includes the base game, the Iki Island expansion, and the cooperative online multiplayer Legends mode. Nixxes has dedicated the past year to bringing Sucker Punch’s in-house engine technology to PC, ensuring that PC players can enjoy unlocked frame rates, a range of graphics settings and presets, and customizable mouse and keyboard controls.

One notable feature of the PC version is its support for ultrawide monitors, offering players a truly immersive experience with a cinematic field of view. The game is fully optimized for 21:9 and 32:9 resolutions, and even supports 48:9 resolutions for those who have triple monitor setups.

Controller support is extensive, allowing players to remap and customize their preferred peripherals using Steam Input. For a more immersive experience, players can even use a Playstation DualSense controller with haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, adding a tactile element to gameplay.

PC players can already wishlist and pre-purchase Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut on both Steam and the Epic Games Store. Those who pre-purchase the game will receive early in-game unlocks such as New Game+, Horse Traveler’s Attire, and Broken Armor dyes from Baku’s shop.

Co-founder of Sucker Punch, Brian Fleming, expressed his excitement about the PC version, stating, “This is a first for Sucker Punch – all our previous work is console-exclusive, so we are excited about all this and Nixxes was the right team to do this project. With them on board, we knew the results would be nothing short of amazing!”

For PC players new to the game, Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut is an action-adventure set in feudal Japan. Players take on the role of Jin Sakai, a samurai raised and trained in traditional ways. After a devastating Mongol invasion, Jin must decide whether to uphold his samurai traditions or deviate from his path to protect Tsushima and its people.

The Iki Island Expansion takes players on a journey to a lawless land filled with raiders and criminals. Jin will face new challenges and enemies as he fights to save Iki. Additionally, the game offers a cooperative multiplayer experience called Legends, inspired by Japanese folk tales and mythology. Players can choose from four classes and embark on story missions or engage in wave-based survival missions.

For those seeking a unique visual experience, Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut on PC includes Kurosawa Mode. This mode presents the game in black and white with film grain effects, accompanied by Japanese dialogue and English subtitles, paying homage to the legendary filmmaker Akira Kurosawa.

Nixxes Software and Sucker Punch Productions are eagerly anticipating the release of Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut on PC. More information, including system requirements, will be shared as the launch date of May 16 approaches.

FSR: AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) is a type of rendering technique that looks to boost framerates in games and enable quality high-resolution gaming. It is an software upscaling technology, designed to improve the performance of games without loss of image quality and graphical detail. It works by rendering frames at a lower resolution and then using an open-source spatial upscaling algorithm to make the game look as though it's running at a higher resolution13. It is different from Nvidia's DLSS, which uses machine learning and temporal upscaling to achieve similar results. FSR is part of AMD's FidelityFX image toolkit and does not require specific training or special-purpose logic within the GPU. AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) scales across a broad spectrum of new and older products, including integrated graphics, and is optimized for AMD RDNA and AMD RDNA 2 architecture-based Radeon RX 6000 and RX 5000 Series graphics cards. FSR is also supported on select NVIDIA graphics cards.
