Tachyum plans to launch 1U and 2U platform solutions for testing and deploying Prodigy solutions across various applications, with evaluation platforms available in 2025.
- Early testing opportunities for OEMs and ODMs
- Partnership with Chenbro for seamless integration and optimal performance
- Industry-leading performance for all workloads with Prodigy's unique architecture
Tachyum, the innovative semiconductor company, has announced its plans to launch 1U and 2U platform solutions that will enable customers and partners to easily test, benchmark, and deploy their Prodigy solutions across a wide range of applications and workloads. This strategic move aims to provide early testing opportunities for OEMs and ODMs, who can now incorporate Prodigy into their own designs. The evaluation platforms will be available in the first and second quarters of 2025, with the 2U platform catering to the high-performance requirements of HPC and Big AI.
To ensure seamless integration and optimal performance, Tachyum has partnered with Chenbro as the chassis partner for the Prodigy evaluation platforms. Chenbro’s standard chassis products, designed for both 1U and 2U, are well-suited to address Prodigy’s high-performance demands, allowing Tachyum to focus on device and motherboard development. Both platforms will utilize the same 2-socket motherboard, supporting 32 DDR5 DIMMs and storage integration for 16 E1.S SSDs. Initially, the evaluation platforms will be air-cooled for quick and easy evaluations, with a liquid-cooled platform expected to follow.
Chenbro’s President, Eric Hui, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating that their chassis solutions combined with Prodigy’s innovation will set new standards in AI and HPC. Dr. Radoslav Danilak, founder and CEO of Tachyum, emphasized the alignment between Chenbro’s quality and their mission to revolutionize computing. He highlighted their broader vision of transforming the entire data center, beyond just chip development, to meet the performance needs of hyperscale, cloud, and AI environments.
Prodigy, as a Universal Processor, offers industry-leading performance for all workloads. Its unique architecture allows data center servers to seamlessly switch between computational domains like AI/ML, HPC, and cloud without the need for dedicated AI hardware. This flexibility not only reduces costs but also significantly improves server utilization. Prodigy integrates 192 custom-designed 64-bit compute cores, delivering exceptional performance gains compared to x86 processors and GPUs for cloud, HPC, and AI applications.
