Sharp has released energy-efficient ePaper displays in 13” and 25” sizes that offer excellent readability and can be easily integrated into third-party CMS solutions, making them ideal for various industries.

  • Energy-efficient solution for signage needs
  • Always-on visibility with minimal power consumption
  • Quick and flexible installation options

Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America (SIICA) has launched its latest innovation in energy-efficient signage solutions with the launch of the Sharp ePaper 13” and 25” Class displays. These digital alternatives to paper posters are perfect for applications that require static content with regular updates, such as retail promotions, menu boards, and transportation information.

The Sharp ePaper displays are a significant step towards a carbon-neutral era, offering always-on visibility with minimal power consumption. They provide excellent readability in bright and semi-outdoor environments, presenting static digital images with a low-reflection and paper-like quality. With full-color capability and outstanding visual performance, these displays offer an ergonomic content presentation that resembles paper, without any reflections or blue light.

Installation options for the Sharp ePaper displays are quick and flexible, thanks to their slim and lightweight design. They can be mounted in landscape, portrait, face-up, or face-down positions, and even support an optional battery for versatile power solutions. The displays also feature an integrated System on a Chip (SoC) for seamless and future-proof operation, delivering content through selected Content Management System (CMS) partners or via USB, WiFi, or Bluetooth.

Keith Yanke, Vice President Product & Solutions Marketing for Sharp, highlighted the sustainability and convenience of the ePaper displays. He emphasized that they can easily integrate into supported third-party CMS solutions, allowing users to manage distribution and display according to a schedule, monitor the display status, and more. This revolutionary display method is ideal for clients across various industries.

The Sharp ePapers will be available in 13” and 25” Class sizes starting in March. For more information about Sharp’s new ePaper displays, visit www.sharpnecdisplays.us.

Technology Explained

SoC: A System-on-Chip (SoC) is a highly integrated semiconductor device that encapsulates various electronic components, including processors, memory, input/output interfaces, and often specialized hardware components, all on a single chip. SoCs are designed to provide a complete computing system or subsystem within a single chip package, offering enhanced performance, power efficiency, and compactness. They are commonly used in a wide range of devices, from smartphones and tablets to embedded systems and IoT devices, streamlining hardware complexity and facilitating efficient integration of multiple functions onto a single chip.
