ASUS and MSI have extended their warranty policies for OLED gaming monitors to address the burn-in issue, with ASUS currently offering a 3-year warranty for their high-end ROG PG32UCDM monitor.

  • Extended warranty for OLED gaming monitors
  • Addresses the burn-in issue
  • Reflects manufacturers' commitment to addressing the issue

ASUS and MSI have recently made updates to their warranty policies for OLED gaming monitors, specifically addressing the burn-in issue. MSI was the first to announce a 3-year warranty for their latest OLED lineup, prompting ASUS to respond by extending their warranty to 3 years as well.

However, it’s important to note that this extended warranty currently only applies to one monitor in ASUS’s lineup, the ROG PG32UCDM. This high-end 32-inch 4K QD-OLED monitor boasts a 240 Hz Refresh Rate, DisplayHDR 400 True Black certification, and 99% DCI-P3 color coverage. While it is not yet available for purchase, pre-order listings indicate a price of €1,500.

ASUS is also working on a variant of this monitor, the PG32UCDP, which offers a dual-Hz mode of 4K 240Hz or 1080p 480Hz. However, no warranty details have been provided for this variant as it does not yet have an official web page.

While it’s certainly a positive step for OLED monitor manufacturers to address the burn-in issue with extended warranties, it would be even better if these warranties were expanded to cover other models as well. Unfortunately, ASUS has not yet provided the full details of their warranty policy.

Overall, these warranty updates reflect the growing recognition of the burn-in problem associated with OLED monitors and the manufacturers’ commitment to addressing it. It remains to be seen whether other models in ASUS’s lineup will receive the same extended warranty treatment.
