Get ready to dive into the world of Stormgate, as it introduces its first-ever public demo. This is your chance to experience the closed beta phase, codenamed “Elephant.” And trust us, you don’t want to miss out on this opportunity.
Before we delve into the details of what you can expect from the playtest, let’s talk about how you can enjoy Stormgate with your friends. While the party system is still a work in progress, you can easily create custom games and share the Lobby ID with your buddies. Crush Major Galt together in the exhilarating 3P co-op map, WRECK HAVOC!
Now, if you’re new to Stormgate, fret not! We’ve got you covered. Start by playing the 3P co-op mode or create custom games against the AI to practice your skills. The friendly PeacefulBot will give you the space to explore the tech trees and experiment with different units. Once you’re feeling confident, upgrade to MurderBot for a more challenging experience.
To enhance your gameplay further, we recommend checking out some fantastic video resources. CloudCuckooCountry’s “Real-time Strategy is incredible and you should play it” will surely get you pumped up. BeoMulf’s “3 Tips to Dominate Stormgate” and PiG’s “How to play Stormgate’s Vanguard Faction (for beginners)” are excellent guides to help you master the game. During Steam Next Fest, you’ll notice a few things as Stormgate is still in beta. There might be occasional server restarts, but rest assured, we’ll bring the game back online as quickly as possible. Keep an eye on our official Discord for updates and more information. Additionally, high unit counts may impact FPS, especially on lower-end systems, and server stability might vary due to the influx of new players. But fear not, we’re actively working on optimizing these areas.
As with any game in development, balance is a key focus for us. So, you may come across some bugs, exploits, or strategies that seem overpowered. Don’t worry, this stage is all about identifying and addressing these issues together. We appreciate your patience as we refine the gameplay experience.
While some customization options and settings are still in development, we assure you that they are coming. Hotkey customization and modifier key customization are currently works in progress. We understand your desire for these features and will include them in a future update. Just hang tight!
Remember, Stormgate is still a work-in-progress, but we’re excited to share more with you. In a future update, you can expect tier 3 units for the two playable factions and the introduction of a third faction. Placeholder art, missing sounds, animations, lighting, and FX will be refined to provide a more polished experience upon the game’s official launch. And speaking of launch, Early Access is scheduled for mid-2024, with the official launch date yet to be determined.
