- New Primal Culture adds a unique and exciting gameplay element
- Introduction of new Tomes of Magic and physical forms/mounts adds depth to gameplay
Paradox Interactive and Triumph Studios have announced the highly anticipated release date for Age of Wonders 4: Primal Fury, a thrilling new content pack set to hit PC, Playstation 5, and XBOX Series X|S on February 27, 2024. Building upon the success of the award-winning fantasy strategy game, this expansion brings a host of exciting features to the table.
One of the standout additions in Primal Fury is the introduction of a new Primal Culture, centered around the mastery of beasts and nature. Players will have the opportunity to channel their inner animal spirit, shaping their empire both physically and spiritually. With seven primal animals to choose from, such as the Tunneling Spider and Glacial Mammoth, players can even terraform the land to their desired biome, granting powerful buffs in combat.
To further enhance the magical expertise of players’ empires, Primal Fury introduces two new Tomes of Magic. The Tome of Fey Mists specializes in spreading magical mists that shield units from ranged attacks and provide valuable buffs. On the other hand, the Tome of the Stormborne focuses on control of water and lightning, granting economic buffs from ocean provinces and allowing players to transform their armies into fearsome Naga creatures.
But that’s not all! Primal Fury also brings a range of new physical forms and mounts to the game. Players can now ride into battle on the back of a mammoth or a crocodile, adding a whole new level of strategic depth to their conquests. Additionally, six new wildlife units will join the fray, providing fresh challenges and opportunities on the battlefield.
In conjunction with the release of Primal Fury, Triumph Studios is also launching the free Wolf Update. This update incorporates community feedback and introduces various improvements to the game. Notable additions include a rework of necromancy mechanics, new randomly generated items, and War Bounties that help players better coordinate their allies in conflicts.
Age of Wonders 4: Primal Fury will be available on all platforms for a suggested retail price of $9.99/£8.49/€9.99. However, players who have already purchased the Premium Edition of Age of Wonders 4 or the Expansion Pass will receive Primal Fury at no additional cost.
Prepare to harness the power of nature and embark on an epic journey in Age of Wonders 4: Primal Fury. With its captivating new features and thrilling gameplay enhancements, this expansion promises to deliver an unforgettable experience for fans of the series.
