Liquid Cooling gear manufacturer EK has launched its latest products for the Intel “Sierra Forest” processor family. The EK-Pro CPU WB 7529 and 7529 Rack water blocks are specifically designed to efficiently cool the Sierra Forest CPUs, which are Intel’s first-generation E-core Xeon server processors based on the LGA 7529 socket. These powerful CPUs, set to launch in the first half of 2024, boast an impressive 288 cores per socket, resulting in a staggering 576 cores per server. With such a high core count, liquid cooling becomes an essential solution for effective heat management.
The Sierra Forest architecture aims to achieve ultra-high core counts, providing greater compute density that will greatly benefit cloud and high-performance computing (HPC) server applications. However, with increased compute density comes the need for enhanced cooling capabilities. Even though the E-Cores consume less power per core, their dense configuration within the CPU poses unique challenges for traditional air cooling methods.
The EK-Pro CPU WB 7529 water blocks build upon their predecessors’ cooling engine but on a much larger scale to accommodate the larger surface area of the new Intel CPUs. These CPU water blocks feature a meticulously machined copper base (cold plate) made from the purest copper available on the market, treated with nickel electroplating. The top of the water block is crafted from CNC-milled durable black POM Acetal, while the hold-down bracket is laser-cut stainless steel.
The EK-Pro CPU WB 7529 Ni + Acetal is a dedicated workstation-grade water block designed for Intel LGA 7529 processors. It offers three standard G1/4″ threaded ports located on the top of the water block, making it ideal for workstations and taller server racks. On the other hand, the EK-Pro CPU WB 7529 Rack Ni + Acetal is a dedicated server-grade water block with 1U rack compatibility. It features four G1/8″ ports split into two sides, allowing for easier tube management and optimal compatibility with low-profile racks.
The EK-Pro CPU WB 7529 water blocks are manufactured in Slovenia, Europe, and are currently available for pre-order through the EK Webshop. Shipping is expected to commence in late February 2024. The table below provides the manufacturer-suggested retail prices (MSRP), including VAT.

Liquid Cooling: Liquid cooling is a technology used to cool down computer components, such as processors, graphics cards, and other components that generate a lot of heat. It works by circulating a liquid coolant, such as water or a special coolant, through a series of pipes and radiators. The liquid absorbs the heat from the components and then dissipates it into the air. This technology is becoming increasingly popular in the computer industry due to its ability to provide more efficient cooling than traditional air cooling methods. Liquid cooling can also be used to overclock components, allowing them to run at higher speeds than their rated speeds. This technology is becoming increasingly popular in the gaming industry, as it allows gamers to get the most out of their hardware.
