Leaked benchmarks suggest that Intel's upcoming 14th Gen Core Ultra processors, particularly the Core Ultra 5 125H, may outperform AMD's Ryzen 7 7840HS in both CPU and graphics tests, making it a strong contender in the midrange processor market.

  • Impressive performance in both CPU and graphics tests
  • Strong contender to AMD's Ryzen 7 7840HS
  • Potential for Intel to make a strong comeback in the midrange processor market

Intel is gearing up to release its 14th Gen Core Ultra processors, and leaked benchmarks of the Core Ultra 5 125H suggest that these midrange products may be Intel’s strongest in over a decade. Despite a lower production skew, the synthetic benchmarks of the 125H are comparable to AMD’s Ryzen 7 7840HS, with the graphics tests even showing higher scores.

In the Cinebench R20 “nT” benchmark, the Intel Core Ultra 5 125H falls just 10% behind the Ryzen 7 7840HS, scoring 5690 points compared to the latter’s 6309 points. A similar difference can be seen in the R23 “nT” benchmark, where the 125H achieves 14,771 points while the 7840HS reaches 16,473 points. However, it is in the graphics benchmarks that Intel’s Meteor Lake truly shines, boasting double-digit leads over AMD’s Phoenix Point products. In TimeSpy, the Core Ultra 5 125H scores an impressive 3,548 points, surpassing the Ryzen 7 7840HS’s 3,007 points and the Core i5-13500H’s meager 1,530 points. This translates to an 18% lead for the Core Ultra 5 125H, despite it being the lowest-end chip in the lineup. FireStrike also showcases the Core Ultra 5 125H’s expertise, with a 12% advantage over the Ryzen 7 7840HS. The former achieves a score of 9,095 points, while the latter trails behind with 8,543 points. In comparison, the Core i5-13500H lags significantly with only 5,303 points in the same rendering test.

These leaked benchmarks suggest that Intel’s Core Ultra 5 125H is a powerful contender to AMD’s Ryzen 7 7840HS. With its impressive performance in both CPU and graphics tests, Intel seems to be making a strong comeback in the midrange processor market. While we await the official release of Intel’s 14th Gen Core Ultra processors, these leaked benchmarks have certainly piqued the interest of tech enthusiasts and gamers alike.
