AMD suspends production of Radeon RX 6650XT, anticipated to sell out in China by September’s end.

AMD has allegedly halted production of the Radeon RX 6650 XT graphics card, leading to a significant price drop and the introduction of the newer RX 7600 model with similar specs and a lower launch price.

According to sources on the Board Channels forum, AMD has allegedly halted production of the Radeon RX 6650 XT graphics card. While rumors should always be taken with a grain of salt, some information from this particular source has been verified in the past. It is believed that the existing stock of the Navi 23 RX 6650 XT model will be depleted by the end of this month.

The RX 6650 XT was introduced just last year as part of AMD’s refreshed RDNA2-based RX 6×50 series GPUs. However, availability of this model is now dwindling, leading board partners in China to significantly reduce its price. Originally priced at 3099 RMB, it can now be found for as low as 2000 RMB, or even 1739 RMB at times. The reason behind this price drop is simply the launch of a newer graphics card.

Built on the Navi 23 XT architecture, the RX 6650 XT features 2048 Stream Processors and 8GB of GDDR6 memory on a 128-bit interface. However, it has been succeeded by the Radeon RX 7600, which offers similar specs at a lower launch price. Both models are limited to a PCIe Gen4 x8 interface.

For gamers considering the RX 7600 or the RX 6600 series, opting for the newer RDNA3 architecture might be a more sensible choice. This would provide access to the latest technologies, including FSR3 with Anti-Lag+, which is set to be released in the coming weeks. While RX 6600 users will have FSR3 support, they will not have access to Anti-Lag+.
