Embark Studios, the innovative game development company, is gearing up to host the highly anticipated Open Beta for their team-based shooter, THE FINALS. Set to commence on October 26, 2023, this cross-platform event will allow players on XBOX Series X|S, Playstation 5, and Steam to experience the game’s features until November 5.
THE FINALS takes combat entertainment to a whole new level by immersing players in hyper-realistic Virtual Arenas that are fully destructible and inspired by iconic real-world locations. In this ultimate game show, contestants and their teams battle it out for fame, riches, and the favor of generous seasonal sponsors.
The Open Beta introduces an exciting addition to the map rotation: the brand new Skyway Stadium arena. This treacherous playground will push players to their limits as they navigate its ever-changing landscape. Alongside the new arena, players can also look forward to trying out the all-new game mode called Bank-It. In this casual-friendly mode, four teams of three compete to collect coins, with the first team to reach the maximum limit or the team with the most cash banked emerging victorious.
One of the most enticing aspects of the Open Beta is the inclusion of a free BattlePass. This BattlePass offers players 16 exclusive and permanent rewards that they can unlock and keep for the full game’s launch. Additionally, the Open Beta boasts cross-play and cross-progression capabilities between PC and consoles, allowing players to seamlessly continue their progress across platforms.
The primary objectives of the Open Beta are to validate improvements and changes made since earlier testing on PC, stress-test the game’s server and backend infrastructure at scale, ensure efficient patching and updates across platforms, and gather valuable feedback on the console and gamepad experience.
To give eager fans a taste of what’s to come, Embark Studios has released a thrilling new trailer showcasing the unparalleled chaos and destruction that awaits them in THE FINALS.
During the Open Beta, players can expect to explore a variety of iconic arenas, including the newly added Skyway Stadium, the cobblestone streets of Monaco, and the towering skyscrapers of downtown Seoul. Each arena offers a unique setting for intense combat and destruction.
In terms of game modes, the Open Beta introduces Bank-It, where teams compete to collect coins and emerge as the victors. Additionally, players can engage in the unranked tournament mode, where four teams of three compete to find cashboxes and deposit them in vaults. For those seeking a more competitive experience, the ranked tournament mode offers a Cashout mode with four teams of three battling it out in a tournament format.
Contestant progression is a key aspect of THE FINALS, and the Open Beta introduces a free BattlePass that includes 16 exclusive rewards. These rewards will be transferred to the full game upon its launch. Furthermore, players can progress through five different leagues, each offering permanent rewards for reaching specific tiers. Those who manage to reach the prestigious Diamond tier will be rewarded with an exclusive Legendary Diamond Weapon Skin.
The Open Beta will also showcase an impressive array of content, including 20 weapons, 26 gadgets, and 9 abilities for players to choose from. Embark Studios has also made significant improvements to performance, movement, teamplay, and more to ensure a seamless and immersive gameplay experience.
Excitement is building as players eagerly await the start of THE FINALS Open Beta. To participate, players can register via the PlayStation Store, Xbox Game Store, or Steam. Stay tuned for more information on this game that promises to redefine the shooter genre.
