NVIDIA Boosts GeForce RTX 4090 FE Price in Europe by €30, introduces Latest Graphics Powerhouse

October 16, 2023 by our News Team

NVIDIA has adjusted the price of its RTX 4090 Founders Edition multiple times over the past year, with the current price being €1799 in October 2023, while the rest of the RTX 40 lineup remains unaffected.

  • NVIDIA promptly adjusted prices whenever exchange rates fluctuated
  • Competition from new Radeon and Intel GPUs has prevented significant pricing changes in NVIDIA's high-end and mid-range segments
  • Board partner versions of the RTX 4090 are available at lower prices

nVidia has made another price adjustment for its flagship ADA graphics card, the RTX 4090 Founders Edition. While the prices of the RTX 4080-4060 models seem to remain unchanged, with slight variations of up to €10, the RTX 4090 has undergone several price adjustments over the past year. This particular model is now celebrating its anniversary as it was the first desktop Ada model to hit the market on October 12th.

Initially, European customers faced higher costs due to unfavorable EUR/USD exchange rates, resulting in a stronger dollar. However, NVIDIA promptly adjusted prices whenever these exchange rates fluctuated over the past year. Now, it seems that NVIDIA has found it necessary to make a slight price adjustment in a different direction.

The pricing history for the Geforce RTX 4090 Founders Edition in Germany is as follows: €1949 at launch in October 2022, €1859 in February 2023, €1819 in March 2023, €1769 in May 2023, and currently €1799 in October 2023.

While the card is still more affordable than its original MSRP, there’s no denying that it has become more expensive in recent months. With rumors circulating about potential updates from NVIDIA in the high-end market, one might expect the RTX 40 series to become cheaper rather than pricier at this stage.

Fortunately, the rest of the RTX 40 lineup remains unaffected by these price adjustments. Competition from new Radeon and Intel GPUs has effectively prevented significant pricing changes in NVIDIA’s high-end and mid-range segments.

It’s important to note that these price adjustments only apply to the Founders Edition of the RTX 4090. Board partner versions, such as Gainward’s, are readily available at lower prices, starting from €1659. Additionally, a €30 price increase for a high-end graphics card is unlikely to deter enthusiasts.

Overall, while the RTX 4090 Founders Edition has experienced price fluctuations, it remains a desirable option for those seeking top-tier performance in their gaming or professional setups.
