HP Inc. has just launched the HP Spectre Foldable PC, a 3-in-1 device that combines the best features of a laptop, tablet, and desktop into one versatile package. With a foldable screen that seamlessly adapts to different form factors, this device is designed to meet the demands of today’s consumers who crave flexibility in their hybrid lives.
Jo Tan, Senior Vice President & Division President of Personal Systems Consumer Solutions at HP Inc., explained, “Consumers are demanding greater flexibility to connect, work, and play beyond what the traditional laptop can provide. We are excited to introduce the HP Spectre Foldable PC, designed to seamlessly adapt to the various ways you want to work with its unique, durable form factor that pushes the boundaries of design and technology.”
The Spectre Fold effortlessly transitions between three separate form factors, offering a frictionless user experience. It can be used as a traditional laptop, a slim tablet with a continuous 17-inch screen, or a powerful desktop with a built-in kickstand. This seamless transition is made possible by a foldable panel and integrated hinge that have been designed for durability and tested with the same requirements as traditional HP Laptops.
One of the standout features of the Spectre Fold is its expanded screen, which leverages Windows Snap and an HP enhanced mode to quickly adapt and reconfigure the Windows layout. Whether you’re toggling between content and windows in laptop mode, editing photos in Photoshop using the extended or expanded laptop mode, or enjoying an IMAX movie on the full screen, the Spectre Fold offers an immersive experience like no other foldable PC.
The Spectre Fold is not only innovative in terms of design but also in terms of performance and features. It is the world’s first foldable PC with built-in AI for security, wellness, and gesture controls. An advanced AI chip adapts to your needs, delivering a tailored computing experience that focuses on you. Features such as walk away lock, wake on approach, auto screen dimming, and privacy alerts enhance your privacy and provide a more intuitive interaction with the device. Screen time and distance reminders, along with touch-free content control, help you prioritize your wellbeing.
In terms of power, the Spectre Fold is equipped with a 12th Gen Intel Core i7 Processor engineered on the Intel Evo platform. This means it can handle demanding real-life tasks in any mode with ease. With Intel Iris Xe Graphics, stunning graphics are guaranteed, while the long-lasting battery life of up to 12 hours in laptop mode and up to 11 hours in desktop mode ensures you can stay productive throughout the day. The device also boasts blazing-fast Wi-Fi 6E connectivity and ample storage with 16 GB of memory and a 1 TB SSD.
HP has also taken sustainability into consideration with the Spectre Fold. The device incorporates eco-friendly materials into its design, including up to 90% post-industrial recycled (PIR) metal in the cover and keyboard frame, recycled polyester fiber in the keyboard module wrap, and 50% PCR plastic in the bezel and keyboard keycaps. The keycaps are coated with 100% water-based paint, and the packaging material is 100% sustainably sourced. The Spectre Fold is EPEAT Gold Registered and ENERGY STAR Certified.
The HP Spectre Foldable PC is now available for pre-order in the U.S. on BestBuy.com, with limited quantities expected to be available in October on HP.com for a starting price of $4,999.99. It will also be available at select Best Buy locations. Availability in select countries is expected later this fall.

Technology Explained
SSD: A Solid State Drive (SSD) is a modern data storage device that employs flash memory technology to store data electronically. Unlike traditional hard disk drives (HDDs), SSDs have no moving parts, resulting in significantly faster read and write speeds. This leads to quicker boot times, faster application loading, and smoother overall system performance. SSDs are known for their durability, shock resistance, and energy efficiency, making them ideal for laptops, ultrabooks, and other portable devices. They come in various form factors, including 2.5-inch, M.2, and PCIe cards, and are favored for their reliability, quiet operation, and reduced heat generation

Wi-Fi 6E: WiFi 6E is the latest iteration of the WiFi standard, offering faster speeds and improved performance. It is designed to take advantage of the newly available 6GHz frequency band, which is much less congested than the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. This means that WiFi 6E can provide faster speeds and more reliable connections, even in crowded areas. It is also more secure, as it uses the latest encryption standards. In the computer industry, WiFi 6E can be used to provide faster and more reliable connections for laptops, tablets, and other devices. It can also be used to provide better coverage in large buildings, such as offices and universities. Additionally, it can be used to provide better connections for streaming services, such as Netflix and Hulu, as well as for gaming.
