Introducing My Team 2.0
Get ready, F1 fans! The highly anticipated My Team 2.0 is here, marking the most significant upgrade since its debut in F1 2020. If you’ve dived into My Team before, you know the drill: you play as a driver-owner, juggling the behind-the-scenes hustle while also getting behind the wheel. But in F1 25, we’re flipping the script. This time, you’ll step into a more authentic, management-centric role as the team owner.
Say goodbye to just managing a single driver. Now, you’ll be at the helm of a full-fledged operation, overseeing critical facilities like Engineering, Personnel, and Corporate. Your mission? Recruit and manage two drivers to represent your team, and during race weekends, you’ll have the tough choice of who to take to the track. This shift allows you to explore what kind of owner you want to be, adding layers of strategy and storytelling to your My Team experience. Excited to learn more about the new features and improvements? Check out the latest video showcasing F1 25’s Career Modes: My Team & Driver Career.
Manage Your Facilities
As a team owner in My Team, you’ll be tasked with managing various facilities, each with its own unique responsibilities. For the first time, the Engineering facility will separate research and development. Imagine this: you’re developing a crucial part for your car. You can either split your team’s focus to work on parts for both drivers, which saves money but takes longer, or you can go all in on a single part for your star driver, ensuring it’s ready for the next Grand Prix. Just remember, if you want to keep your driver happy during contract negotiations, their perception of you matters!
Your position in the Constructors’ Championship also plays a significant role in your resource points income. If you’re at the top, you’ll receive fewer resource points for R&D, while teams at the bottom will get a boost. It’s a clever reflection of the real-world sport, adding a competitive edge to your management decisions.
Navigating Driver Contracts
The Personnel facility introduces a revamped driver contract system that adds a layer of intrigue to your negotiations. You’ll have the chance to chat with multiple drivers before the contract window opens, but tread carefully—if word gets out about your discussions, it could jeopardize your chances of securing top talent.
And let’s not forget about your Workforce, the unsung heroes working tirelessly behind the scenes. The more staff you have, the quicker your development processes will be, but managing your payroll is crucial. You don’t want to exceed the Cost Cap and find yourself in financial trouble!
This is where the Corporate facility comes into play. By keeping a close eye on your finances and spreading your expenses wisely throughout the season, you can stay afloat. Plus, this facility includes a new Decal Editor for customizing your team’s livery—stay tuned for a deeper dive into that!
