Samsung is rumored to be releasing its new Exynos 2500 chip in upcoming devices, including the Galaxy Z Fold and Flip models, after facing production issues last year.
- The Exynos 2500 chip boasts some intriguing characteristics
- Samsung is confident that the Exynos 2500 is ready for mass production and will power future devices from the company
- The Exynos 2600, based on 2nm technology, is expected to deliver even better performance
Rumors are swirling that Samsung is gearing up to unveil its new chip alongside the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold and Flip models. These two devices are expected to feature the Exynos 2500 chip, which boasts some intriguing characteristics. Recent rumors suggest that Samsung has already begun mass production of the 3nm Exynos 2500, with plans to release it to the market later this year. It’s worth noting that this processor was originally slated for release last year but faced production issues, leading Samsung to opt for the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite in the Galaxy S25 instead.
However, Samsung is now confident that the Exynos 2500 is ready for mass production and will power future devices from the company. Among the first devices to receive this processor are the new Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7, with some sources speculating that it may debut with the Galaxy Z Fold7 FE.
There are also expectations that the Galaxy S25 FE will come equipped with the Exynos 2500, with an initial production volume of 5,000 units per month. This number is expected to increase in the coming months, with production reaching full capacity by April.
It’s worth noting that Samsung is set to unveil its new lineup of foldable devices in July or August of this year, allowing the company ample time to prepare stock units of the Exynos 2500 for use in these new devices.
In the meantime, Samsung is diligently working to improve the production of the Exynos 2600, which will be based on 2nm technology and is expected to deliver even better performance. However, this model still faces a high chip rejection rate during production, a challenge that the company aims to overcome in the future.
