- Significant design changes
- Thinner than previous models
- Improved internal and external displays
Samsung is gearing up to release some exciting new additions to its Samsung Galaxy Z Fold and Flip lines this year. One of the highly anticipated models is the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, and we now have a first glimpse of it in one of its renderings. Android Headlines recently launched what could be the first image of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, showcasing some significant design changes.
Compared to previous models, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to come with some considerable improvements. One notable change is its thickness, which is rumored to be only 4.5mm when fully opened and 9.5mm when closed. That means it will be 1.1mm thinner than last year’s model or 0.4mm thinner than the Galaxy Z Fold 6 SE.
Currently, the OPPO Find N5 holds the title for the thinnest phone with a thickness of 4.2mm, closely followed by the HONOR Magic V3 at 4.4mm. However, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7’s sleek design might give these contenders a run for their money.
In terms of features, the new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is rumored to sport an 8.2-inch internal display and a 6.5-inch external display. Both screens will be a significant improvement over the previous generation model. Powering the device will be the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor, a customized version of the chip specifically designed for Samsung devices, similar to the one found in the Galaxy S25. There are also rumors that Samsung might use the Exynos 2500 in some regions, provided they resolve any issues associated with it.
As for the battery, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to have the same 4400mAh capacity as its predecessor. In terms of camera upgrades, Samsung is said to be adopting a 200MP primary sensor, along with a 12MP ultrawide sensor and a 10MP front-facing camera for selfies. Additionally, the inner display is rumored to feature a 4MP under-display camera, further enhancing the device’s sleek design.
If all goes according to plan and Samsung sticks to its schedule, we can expect the official unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 sometime in July. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting new addition to the Samsung Galaxy lineup.
