“iPhone SE 4 or iPhone 16E: Anticipated Major Changes on the Horizon”

We’re just a few weeks away from finally getting to know the new generation of the iPhone SE. Rumors suggest that the new version of the device could be revealed on February 19th, and there’s also a strong possibility that Apple will change the model’s name. According to the rumors, the iPhone SE 4 might actually be called the iPhone 16E, blurring the line between the company’s traditional models and its more affordable ones.

Recently, analyst Mark Gurman once again confirmed that this change is almost certain to happen. Apple may even drop the name iPhone SE altogether and adopt just the letter E at the end of the current model’s name. Tim Cook also mentioned recently that a new member would be joining the product family on February 19th, and that product could very well be the new iPhone 16E, previously known as the iPhone SE 4.

But why is Apple changing the device’s branding now? Gurman suggests that it could be due to the anticipated changes in this model. The new device is expected to bring significant changes compared to previous devices in the iPhone SE line, positioning it more as a “secondary” model in the company’s main lineup.

One example of this is the processor, as the iPhone 16E is expected to feature the same processor model found in the rest of the iPhone 16 product line, offering virtually the same performance. Although there will likely be cost-cutting measures to reduce the final price, the device will be seen more as a variant of the regular iPhones.

Additionally, the iPhone 16E is rumored to receive an upgrade in RAM, increasing it to 8GB. This would enable the use of Apple’s intelligent technologies, bringing Apple’s AI capabilities to the device.
