What’s the Buzz About Patch 8?

The final major patch for Baldur’s Gate 3 is just around the corner, and it’s packed with new features, bug fixes, and a ton of exciting additions. But here’s the catch: we need your help! This is your chance to contribute to the game’s development by participating in our stress test. One of the most anticipated features? Cross-play! That’s right; players across all platforms can now join forces in multiplayer sessions. So, rally your friends from other platforms and prepare for some epic battles—especially when it comes to romancing your favorite companions!

How to Join the Stress Test on Xbox

Ready to dive in? The Patch 8 stress test is a separate application from the main game, and you can find it in the Xbox Insider Hub. Just a heads-up: you’ll need to own Baldur’s Gate 3 and have some storage space on your Xbox. Here’s how to get started:

1. Open (or install, if you haven’t yet) the Xbox Insider Hub on your Xbox Series X|S.
2. Navigate to Previews > Baldur’s Gate 3.
3. Select “Join.”
4. You’ll be directed to the Store Page to install the stress test version!

If you decide to switch back to Patch 7, just exit the Stress Test via the Xbox Insider Hub. Keep in mind that any save files from the stress test won’t be compatible with Patch 7, so choose wisely!

Get Ready for Cross-Play!

Want to set up your own cross-play session? It’s easy! Just follow these steps:

1. Head to the multiplayer menu and select Cross-Play.

3. Customize your game options and hit “Launch.”

To join a friend’s cross-play session:

1. From the main menu, click on Multiplayer.
2. Select the “Cross-Play” tab.
3. Wait for your friend’s lobby to pop up, and jump right in!

If you or the host are using mods and there are any issues, a Verification Window will pop up to guide you on what needs to be installed, uninstalled, or updated.
