Samsung is rumored to use its Exynos 2500 processor exclusively for its upcoming foldable devices, according to a recent leak, signaling a potential shift in the company's processor strategy.
- Exclusive use of Exynos 2500 processor for foldable devices
- 10-core cluster for improved performance
- Possible shift in processor strategy for Samsung devices
Now that Samsung has officially launched its Galaxy S25 lineup, all eyes are turning to its foldable devices. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 are now on the list of upcoming devices that the company is expected to announce, and rumors about them are swirling.
Recently, the leaker @Jukanlosreve revealed some new information about the two devices, specifically their features. According to the leaker, Samsung is rumored to use its Exynos 2500 processor for the Galaxy Z Flip 7. Interestingly, this processor was not used in any of the new Galaxy S25 devices that the company recently presented.
Instead, it seems that Samsung intends to reserve the Exynos 2500 exclusively for its foldable devices. The leaker also hints that the new chip boasts a 10-core cluster, which certainly sounds intriguing.
In the past, Samsung has used a mix of Qualcomm and Exynos processors for its devices, but it appears that the strategy may be changing. Qualcomm processors could now be focused on the S series devices, while Exynos chips would be reserved for the foldable models.
While Exynos processors have been improving, their performance still falls slightly behind the alternatives – although many argue that this doesn’t significantly impact the user experience. At the same time, Exynos chips are cheaper for Samsung to produce.
As of now, it is still unknown when Samsung plans to release its new foldable models, but we can certainly expect some updates in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for more information!
