A Bittersweet Farewell from Midnight Society
Today, we’re sharing some tough news: Midnight Society is closing its doors after three incredible years of creativity and collaboration. It’s been a wild ride, and we’re grateful for the amazing team of over 55 developers who poured their hearts into our new IP, DEADROP. As we turn this page, we’re actively looking to connect our talented team members with other game studios that might be hiring. If you know anyone in the industry who’s on the lookout for fresh talent, please pass this message along or slide into our DMs for direct introductions.
Gratitude and Reflection
We want to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of our community members. Your support has meant the world to us, and we’re genuinely sorry we couldn’t achieve our ultimate goal. It’s been a journey filled with passion, creativity, and a lot of late nights fueled by energy drinks and dreams of what could be.
Building Together: Our Core Principles
Midnight Society was built on the principles of transparency and open development. From the very first weapon designs to the immersive environments and gameplay systems, we shared our progress with you—our massive community of players. Remember those early Snapshots? They weren’t just demos; they were your chance to shape the game alongside us.
Under the guidance of three industry veterans, our studio grew to over fifty AAA developers, many of whom came from some of the biggest franchises in gaming history, like Call of Duty, Halo, and Fortnite. Together, we created a vibrant community where hundreds of thousands of players signed up to experience our in-development builds and provide invaluable feedback.
What’s Next for DEADROP?
As we wrap up this chapter, we’re excited to share the latest from our game: the DEADROP Snapshot VII: Midnight Ride gameplay trailer has just dropped! If you haven’t checked it out yet, now’s the time to hop in and see what we’ve been working on. It’s a thrilling glimpse into the world we’ve crafted together, and we hope it resonates with you as much as it does with us.
While this may be goodbye for Midnight Society, we’re optimistic about the future. We’re confident that our talented team will land on their feet, bringing their skills and creativity to new projects and studios. Thank you for being part of our journey, and here’s to new beginnings!
