Microsoft is introducing Game Assist, a new feature for Windows gamers that integrates with Edge and provides quick access to web information and guides for supported games.
- Integrates directly with Windows game shortcut
- Provides quick access to web information
- Can be used as a mini browser within the game
Microsoft is rolling out a new feature for gamers on Windows called Game Assist. This system integrates directly with the Windows game shortcut and allows users to quickly access web information with a dedicated Edge window.
When users use the WIN+G keyboard shortcut, they can access the Windows Game Bar, which has some useful features. One of the latest additions is Game Assist, which is now starting to roll out to those who have the stable version of Edge on their systems.
Game Assist can provide important information about the game you’re playing, helping you get tips and guides more quickly. Edge analyzes the game and presents the necessary information in a small window.
The idea is that users can use this feature to quickly access important information or guides on how to progress in specific areas. Game Assist integrates directly with Edge and doesn’t even require it to be the default browser.
There are several games directly supported in Game Assist, including Baldur’s Gate 3, Diablo IV, Fortnite, Hellblade II: Senua’s Saga, League of Legends, Minecraft, Overwatch 2, Roblox, Valorant, Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Marvel Rivals, Metaphor: ReFantazio, and finally, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. II: Heart of Chernobyl.
The list may expand in the future as Microsoft adds guides and information for more titles. However, Game Assist can be used as a mini browser within the game, allowing you to quickly search the internet for practically any game without having to leave it.
The update should become available to Windows users in the coming weeks, appearing as a personalized widget for Game Mode.
