AMD showcased several new processors at its dedicated event during CES 2025. Among the highlights were the Ryzen 9950X3D and 9900X3D, along with other exciting models. Let’s dive into the details!

First up, we have the new Ryzen 9 9955HX3D. This processor boasts similar features to the 7945HX3D but with even better performance. With 16 cores, 32 threads, a clock speed of 5.4 GHz, 144 MB of cache, and a 54W TDP, it’s designed for both desktop and laptop computers. The key difference here is that the Ryzen 9 9955HX3D utilizes the latest Zen 5 architecture instead of the Zen 4 architecture found in the 7945HX3D.

While AMD hasn’t shared specific performance details, they did mention that the 9955HX3D is one of the fastest processors in the world for Laptops. Alongside the 9955HX3D, AMD also launched other non-X3D variants, namely the 9955HX and 9850HX. The 9955HX offers 16 cores, 32 threads, a clock speed of 5.4 GHz, 80 MB of cache, and a 54W TDP. On the other hand, the 9850HX comes with 12 cores, 24 threads, a clock speed of 5.2 GHz, 76 MB of cache, and a 54W TDP.

In addition to these exciting new Zen 5 architecture processors, AMD also has some updates for the previous Zen 4 architecture. Enter the Ryzen 200 series. This lineup features various models tailored for portable systems, each with its own category. At the top, we have the Ryzen 9 270x, Ryzen 7 260, and Ryzen 5 250, all focused on delivering top-notch performance at the best possible price. Following them are the Ryzen 5 240, 230, and 220 models. And for those seeking simpler options, there’s the Ryzen 3 210.

According to AMD, the Ryzen 200 series will be available starting in the second quarter of 2025, while the more advanced models in the 9000 series are expected to hit the market in the first half of 2025. As for pricing, we’ll have to wait a bit longer for that information.

All in all, AMD’s CES 2025 event showcased an impressive lineup of processors, offering improved performance and a range of options to suit different computing needs. Whether you’re a power user or looking for a budget-friendly option, AMD has something in store for you. Stay tuned for more updates on these exciting releases!
