- iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max will be considerably larger next year
- Rumors suggest a completely different camera setup
- Several Android device manufacturers might follow Apple's lead and adopt similar camera modules
According to the latest reports on the upcoming iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max, it seems like both models will be considerably larger next year. And now, rumors suggest that they might feature a completely different camera setup.
According to rumors circulating on the Chinese social media platform Weibo, Apple’s future devices could have a rear camera module with a different shape than what we’re used to seeing. The leaked design, supposedly of the iPhone 17 Pro, shows a rectangular module with slightly rounded corners, similar to the recent Google Pixel phones.
The well-known leaker Digital Chat Station has also confirmed this information, suggesting that the next iPhone models might undergo significant design changes. While the original source mentioned these changes for the Pro model, Digital Chat Station speculates that they could also apply to the Slim or Air models.
Interestingly, the same source suggests that several Android device manufacturers might follow Apple’s lead and adopt similar camera modules in their future releases. It’s worth noting, though, that this design is more reminiscent of the latest Pixel 9 phones.
Of course, all this information is based on rumors, and there’s no official confirmation from Apple yet regarding their upcoming devices. We’ll have to wait until next year to see if these rumors turn out to be true.
