After months of development, the final version of Ubuntu 24.10, codenamed “Oracular Oriole,” is finally available. This release is particularly significant as it also marks the 20th anniversary of the Ubuntu distro.
Ubuntu made its debut in October 2004 with version 4.10 “Warty Warthog,” and since then, it has evolved significantly. Today, Ubuntu is one of the most widely used Linux distros, both in server environments and home desktops.
Ubuntu 24.10 features the latest Linux kernel 6.11, which promises improved stability and compatibility with newer hardware. It also incorporates all the latest security fixes and bug patches from the development line.
