Thermal Grizzly’s New Cooling Solutions: A Game Changer for Intel’s Arrow Lake CPUs
If you’ve ever built a PC or even just peeked inside one, you know that keeping your components cool is crucial. Enter Thermal Grizzly, a name that’s practically synonymous with high-performance cooling solutions. The company has just launched a new lineup of products specifically designed for Intel’s latest LGA 1851 socket, which supports the new Core Ultra 200 Arrow Lake CPUs.
This new lineup includes four products that cater to the unique needs of these 15th generation processors: a CPU contact frame, a direct die water block, a CPU delidding tool, and a delidding heater. Today, three of these products have officially launched and are available for purchase through Thermal Grizzly’s website and their partner resellers. Let’s dive into what makes these products noteworthy.
Intel 1851 CPU Contact Frame V1
First up is the Intel 1851 CPU Contact Frame V1. If you’re wondering why you’d need a new contact frame, here’s the scoop: the thermal hotspot on the Arrow Lake CPUs has shifted. This means that the area where heat tends to concentrate is now located further north on the chip compared to its predecessor. In a move that feels almost like a game of chess, Intel has adjusted the socket position to better manage this heat.
What does that mean for you? Well, while Coolers designed for the previous LGA 1700 socket can still be used, the old contact frames won’t fit. Thermal Grizzly’s new frame is precision-engineered to enhance thermal performance and stability, making it a must-have for anyone looking to push their system to the limit. During a recent pre-launch event in Taipei, the Overclocked Gaming Systems (OGS) team from Greece demonstrated just how effective this frame can be, achieving a remarkable 33-50 MHz performance boost using liquid nitrogen. Talk about cooling on another level!
Intel 1851 Mycro Direct-Die PRO RGB V1
Next, let’s talk about the Intel 1851 Mycro Direct-Die PRO RGB V1. This isn’t just any cooler; it’s designed for direct-die cooling, which essentially means it’s built to cool the CPU directly instead of relying on a heat spreader. It comes in a sleek black aluminum and acrylic design, and there’s even a special white and silver edition on the way.
Now, I can already hear some of you thinking, “Do I really need RGB lighting on my cooler?” The answer is, of course, a resounding “it depends.” But if you’re the type who loves a bit of flair in your build, this cooler not only performs well but also looks great while doing it.
Intel 1851 Delid-Die-Mate V1 and Heater V1
For those who are feeling a bit more adventurous, the Intel 1851 Delid-Die-Mate V1 is here to help you safely delid your CPUs. Now, delidding—removing the heat spreader from a CPU—can be a risky business, especially with the new Arrow Lake processors. The risk is higher than with previous Intel generations, so Thermal Grizzly has designed a tool that allows you to do it safely and efficiently.
What’s the secret? It’s highly recommended to heat the processor to around 165°C before delidding. This helps melt the indium solder and reduces mechanical stress on the chip, making the process a lot smoother. To assist with this, a Delid-Die-Mate Heater V1 is also in the works and will be available soon.
Availability and Pricing
All these products are made in Germany and are now available for order. If you’re wondering about pricing, Thermal Grizzly has released a suggested retail price list that you can check out on their webshop.
In a world where gaming and PC performance are constantly evolving, Thermal Grizzly’s new cooling solutions seem to be a timely addition to the enthusiast toolkit. Whether you’re looking to push your CPU to its limits or simply want to ensure it runs cool and quiet, these products offer some intriguing options.
So, are you ready to take your cooling game to the next level?
