Panasonic has launched its latest rugged tablet, the TOUGHBOOK G2mk3, which incorporates AI processing at the edge. The G2mk3 is the first TOUGHBOOK tablet to feature Intel’s AI Boost neural processing unit (NPU), providing improved efficiency and accuracy for mobile workers across various industries. The tablet’s standalone AI capabilities allow workers to analyse faults, provide information, and complete administrative tasks more quickly, without the need for network connectivity. The G2mk3 also boasts a 10.1-inch display, utilises the Intel Core Ultra 5 processor 135U, and runs on Windows 11 Pro. It features a 13MP rear camera with enhanced low-light capabilities, allowing field workers to take advantage of computer vision technology. The tablet is also designed for backwards compatibility, with over 80% of the ecosystem from previous iterations being compatible with the G2mk3. It offers up to 11 hours of battery life, 5G-ready connectivity, and is dust and water-resistant.
