EK introduces the EK-Quantum Velocity² Direct Die D-RGB – 1700 Core Edition, a water block specifically designed for delidded Intel Core CPUs on the LGA 1700 socket, featuring a unique design and improved cooling performance.

  • Specifically designed for delidded Intel Core CPUs on the LGA 1700 socket
  • Optimized cold plate, cooling fin structure, and mounting mechanism for optimal contact with CPU
  • EK-Matrix7 compatibility for easier loop planning and precise results

EK, the leading provider of computer cooling solutions, is introducing a new water block specifically designed for delidded Intel Core CPUs on the LGA 1700 socket. This water block, called the EK-Quantum Velocity² Direct Die D-RGB – 1700 Core Edition, offers several improvements for 14th-generation CPUs and features a unique design that sets it apart from previous models.

One of the key features of this water block is its purpose-developed cold plate, cooling fin structure, and mounting mechanism. The standoffs positioned at the four corners of the water block ensure optimal contact with the CPU, eliminating concerns about applying too much or too little pressure on the bare CPU die. This design is similar to the AM5 Direct Die water block.

The EK-Quantum Velocity² Direct Die D-RGB – 1700 Core Edition also boasts EK-Matrix7 compatibility, which means that its height and port distance are managed in 7mm increments. This makes loop planning easier and ensures precise results.

Visually, the water block features a seethrough glass-like acrylic top with rich D-RGB illumination behind it. The top is adorned with aluminum bars and two G1/4″ extenders that interrupt the flow of the black-anodized aluminum bars. These extenders can be replaced with other products from the EK-Quantum Torque Micro series.

The mounting mechanism of the Velocity² Direct Die – 1700 Core Edition differs from its predecessor, as it relies on standoffs at all corners instead of the cold plate making contact with the die guard. The cold plate’s protruding section is horizontally offset to cover the CPU die area, and the fin structure has been optimized to direct most of the flow over the die and spread out to both sides.

For users who have purchased the previous EK-Quantum Velocity² Direct Die D-RGB – 1700 water block, EK is offering a 15% discount on the latest Core Edition water block. To redeem the discount code, customers must contact EK Support to verify their previous purchase.

The EK-Quantum Velocity² Direct Die D-RGB – 1700 Core Edition is an EK-Matrix7 certified product, which adds convenience and precision to PC Liquid Cooling. The product is compatible only with the Intel LGA 1700 socket and delidded Intel Core Series desktop CPUs.

In terms of D-RGB compatibility, the water block works with popular addressable RGB sync technologies from major motherboard manufacturers. The 3-pin D-RGB LED connector aligns with the +5V marking on the addressable RGB header.

EK invites viewers to watch the EK EXPO | Computex 2024 Day 3 video for a closer look at the latest EK innovations, including the EK-Quantum Velocity² Direct Die D-RGB – 1700 Core Edition CPU water block. The water block is available for pre-order through the EK Webshop and Partner Reseller Network, with shipping expected to start in mid-July 2024. The manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) for the EK-Quantum Velocity² Direct Die D-RGB – 1700 Core Edition is 226.81€.

Liquid Cooling: Liquid cooling is a technology used to cool down computer components, such as processors, graphics cards, and other components that generate a lot of heat. It works by circulating a liquid coolant, such as water or a special coolant, through a series of pipes and radiators. The liquid absorbs the heat from the components and then dissipates it into the air. This technology is becoming increasingly popular in the computer industry due to its ability to provide more efficient cooling than traditional air cooling methods. Liquid cooling can also be used to overclock components, allowing them to run at higher speeds than their rated speeds. This technology is becoming increasingly popular in the gaming industry, as it allows gamers to get the most out of their hardware.
