Acer introduces two new wireless routers, the Wave 7 and Predator Connect W6x, featuring Wi-Fi 7 and 6 support, respectively, with advanced features such as MLO technology, mesh expansion, and Hybrid QoS, catering to the needs of gamers, families, and remote workers.
- Fast and reliable connectivity with lightning-fast speeds of up to 6400 Mbps
- Support for latest Wi-Fi 7 standard and 320 MHz channel support for improved throughput and reduced latency
- Built-in security features such as WPA and Trend Micro Home Network Security for network privacy and protection against threats
Acer is expanding its wireless Router lineup with two new options that cater to the needs of gamers, families, and remote workers. The Acer Wave 7 and Predator Connect W6x are designed to deliver fast and reliable connectivity, with each router leveraging different Wi-Fi technologies.
Let’s start with the Acer Wave 7, which takes advantage of the latest Wi-Fi 7 standard. This sleek router offers lightning-fast speeds of up to 6400 Mbps, ensuring exceptional reliability and low Latency. Users can choose between two configurations: a combination of 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies or a combination of 2.4 GHz and 6 GHz frequencies, depending on their specific needs.
One standout feature of the Wave 7 is its use of 320 MHz channel support and Multi-Link Operations (MLO) technology. This allows devices to simultaneously transmit and receive data across different frequencies, resulting in significantly improved throughput, reduced latency, and minimized interference. The router also supports mesh expansion, meaning users can add more access points to extend Wi-Fi coverage throughout their homes or larger spaces.
In terms of connectivity options, the Wave 7 features three Gigabit Ethernet ports with switchable WAN/LAN capability, providing flexibility for network configuration. It also comes equipped with built-in Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) security to ensure network privacy and peace of mind.
Moving on to the Predator Connect W6x, this router is specifically designed for gamers seeking smooth and uninterrupted gaming experiences. With Wi-Fi 6 support and speeds of up to 6000 Mbps, it prioritizes near-zero packet loss to minimize any disruptions during gameplay. The router is powered by a quad-core processor, 1 GB of DDR4 RAM, and 256 MB of ROM, further enhancing its performance capabilities.
For added convenience, the Predator Connect W6x features an LED light indicator on the cover that shows the network connection status at a glance. Gamers can also take control of their network remotely using the Predator Connect utility app, available for download on smartphones or Tablets starting in July. In terms of ports, the router offers four Gigabit Ethernet ports for LAN connectivity and a single 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet port for WAN connectivity.
Both the Acer Wave 7 and Predator Connect W6x come with user-friendly interfaces that make setup and management a breeze. Additionally, they are equipped with Hybrid Quality of Service (QoS) software and the Intel Killer Prioritization Engine, which work together to identify and prioritize critical network traffic for maximum speed and minimal lag. To ensure network security, the routers also come with built-in Trend Micro Home Network Security, safeguarding both the network and connected devices from potential threats.
The Acer Wave 7 will be available in North America in Q2 and in EMEA in July, with prices starting at EUR 119 for a single pack, EUR 199 for a double pack, and EUR 299 for a triple pack. The Predator Connect W6x will also be available in North America in Q2 and in EMEA in July, with prices starting at EUR 129. Specific specifications, pricing, and availability may vary by region.
With these new products, Acer aims to provide seamless connectivity options that cater to the diverse needs of gamers, families, and home-based professionals. By leveraging the latest Wi-Fi technologies and incorporating practical features, Acer’s wireless routers deliver both performance and ease of use while prioritizing network privacy and security.

Technology Explained
DDR4: DDR4 is a generation of Double Data Rate (DDR) dynamic random access memory (RAM) technology. It is a type of RAM that utilizes a higher clock frequency and is more power-efficient than its predecessors. As a result, it is capable of processing data more quickly than other RAM in the computer industry. Its increased speed and power efficiency are beneficial for applications such as gaming, rendering, and machine learning. It is designed for high-performance computing and enables faster access to stored information, resulting in better overall performance for the user. Furthermore, because of its low voltage requirements it requires less power consumption, making it an attractive option for many computer systems. DDR4 is set to become the primary RAM in most computer systems as the industry transitions away from its predecessors.

Latency: Technology latency is the time it takes for a computer system to respond to a request. It is an important factor in the performance of computer systems, as it affects the speed and efficiency of data processing. In the computer industry, latency is a major factor in the performance of computer networks, storage systems, and other computer systems. Low latency is essential for applications that require fast response times, such as online gaming, streaming media, and real-time data processing. High latency can cause delays in data processing, resulting in slow response times and poor performance. To reduce latency, computer systems use various techniques such as caching, load balancing, and parallel processing. By reducing latency, computer systems can provide faster response times and improved performance.
