XMG upgrades its popular XMG PRO 16 Studio laptop with an Intel Core i9-14900HX processor, a lighter weight, and a color-calibrated 240 Hz IPS display, while maintaining its sleek design and extensive connectivity options.

XMG is giving its popular XMG PRO 16 Studio laptop a significant upgrade, enhancing its performance and features. This nVidia Geforce RTX Studio-certified laptop now comes with an Intel Core i9-14900HX processor, which is based on the design of desktop processors, replacing the previous H-series laptop CPU. The new model also boasts a lighter weight of only 2.3 kg and retains its sleek and thin design with a predominantly aluminium chassis.

One of the standout features of the XMG PRO 16 Studio is its 240 Hz IPS display with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels. This display is color-calibrated and X-Rite certified, ensuring accurate and vibrant visuals for both gaming and content creation. The laptop’s chassis remains largely unchanged, maintaining its extensive connectivity options from the previous model.

The upgrade to Intel’s Core i9-14900HX processor brings a significant boost in CPU performance compared to its predecessor. With 24 cores (8 performance and 16 efficiency cores) and 32 threads, the XMG PRO 16 Studio now achieves a score of 28,271 points in a single multi-core run of Cinebench R23, compared to the previous model’s score of 19,310 points. On the graphics card side, the laptop continues to be powered by an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 or 4060, delivering impressive graphics performance.

Despite its slim profile, the XMG PRO 16 Studio still features a robust cooling system with a massive vapor chamber that covers all thermally relevant areas. This ensures optimal performance with improved temperatures and quieter operation. The laptop also offers faster DDR5-5600 RAM and extensive connectivity options, including Thunderbolt 4, USB-A and USB-C ports, HDMI, Mini DisplayPort, Wi-Fi 6E, and a 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet port.

The XMG PRO 16 Studio is equipped with a full-size keyboard with LED backlighting and a dedicated numeric keypad. It also includes an improved touchpad with enhanced gliding characteristics. For video meetings, a Windows Hello-compatible Full HD webcam with temporal noise reduction is available. The laptop also features a hardware-based TPM 2.0 module for enhanced security.

The base configuration of the XMG PRO 16 Studio starts at €1,699 and includes the Intel Core i9-14900HX, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060, 16GB DDR5-5600 RAM, a 500GB SSD, and a color-calibrated WQXGA IPS display with 240 Hz. Customers have the option to upgrade to the faster GeForce RTX 4070 for an additional €295. The laptop is available for pre-order now and is expected to be in stock from the beginning of June.
