- License-free full system backup solution for Windows
- Bare-metal restoration capability for effortless system recovery
- Synthetic Incremental Backup technology for faster backup and restore times
QNAP Systems, a innovator in computing, networking, and storage solutions, has officially launched NetBak PC Agent, an impressive license-free full system backup solution for Windows. This utility, which requires the installation of Hyper Data Protector (a NAS application supporting endpoint devices backup), offers users a modern and sleek user interface, along with block-based backup options for complete systems, drives, folders, or individual files.
One of the standout features of NetBak PC Agent is its bare-metal restoration capability, allowing users to effortlessly restore a full PC or server system by creating a USB boot disk. Additionally, QNAP’s Synthetic Incremental Backup technology is integrated into the solution, significantly reducing backup and restore time. This game-changing feature enhances IT efficiency and end-user productivity while ensuring data integrity by minimizing recovery time objective (RTO) and recovery point objective (RPO).
Another noteworthy addition is the Backup Explorer, a user-friendly interface within Hyper Data Protector that enables users to locate specific folders or files across various backup versions and seamlessly restore them to their client devices. Moreover, NetBak PC Agent offers scheduled backup functionality, allowing users to set backup rules and let the software take care of the rest.
Furthermore, NetBak PC Agent supports both local and remote site restoration destinations, providing users with flexibility and convenience in managing their backups.
Bobby Chen, Product Manager of QNAP, expressed his enthusiasm for the release of NetBak PC Agent, stating that it simplifies complex backup tasks and significantly reduces backup and restore time for IT professionals and personal users alike. With features like global deduplication, backup scheduling, and recovery compression, NetBak PC Agent addresses the pain points associated with traditional backup scenarios.
To utilize NetBak PC Agent, users need an x86-based NAS (Intel or AMD) with a minimum of 4 GB RAM. The NAS should be running QTS 4.5.4 or later, or QuTS hero h4.5.4 or later. Supported operating systems include Windows 10, Windows 11, Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022.
Interested users can download NetBak PC Agent from QNAP Utilities, while Hyper Data Protector is available for download from the QTS App Center. With this innovative solution, QNAP continues to demonstrate its commitment to providing storage and backup solutions that cater to the evolving needs of both professionals and personal users.

Technology Explained
NAS: Network Attached Storage (NAS) is a specialized storage device or server that provides centralized data storage and access over a network, usually using Ethernet connections. NAS systems are designed to offer a convenient and efficient way to store and share files among multiple users or devices within a home or office environment. Unlike traditional storage solutions, NAS devices operate independently and have their own operating systems and management interfaces. They are characterized by easy setup and configuration, making them accessible even to users with limited technical expertise. NAS devices can offer various features, including data redundancy through RAID configurations, remote access over the internet, automatic backup, media streaming, and even application hosting in some advanced models. As a versatile and user-friendly storage solution, NAS has become a popular choice for both personal and small business use.
