Intel Corporation has launched two new initiatives, the AI PC Developer Program and welcoming independent hardware vendors into its AI PC Acceleration Program, to optimize and maximize artificial intelligence capabilities on Intel-based AI PCs.
- Expanded reach for small- and medium-sized developers
- Access to tools and resources for a frictionless developer experience
- Collaboration with Intel's broad ecosystem for expanded market opportunities
Intel Corporation has just launched two new initiatives as part of its AI PC Acceleration Program, signaling a major step forward in its efforts to optimize and maximize artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities on Intel-based AI PCs. The first initiative is the AI PC Developer Program, which aims to engage with small- and medium-sized players and aspiring developers, expanding Intel’s reach beyond large ISVs. The program offers a range of tools, including the new AI-ready Developer Kit, to deliver a frictionless developer experience and facilitate the adoption of new AI technologies at scale.
Carla Rodriguez, Intel’s vice president and general manager of Client Software Ecosystem Enabling, emphasized the company’s commitment to driving a seamless experience for developers. With the AI PC Developer Program, Intel aims to provide software developers and ISVs with access to tools, workflows, AI-deployment frameworks, and developer kits that feature the latest Intel hardware, including the powerful Intel Core Ultra processor.
To further support developers, Intel has updated its developer resource pages to serve as a comprehensive hub for accessing AI PC and client-focused toolkits, documentation, and training materials. These resources aim to empower developers to fully leverage the capabilities of Intel Core Ultra processors, maximizing performance in AI and machine learning (ML) applications while accelerating the development of new use cases.
In addition to the AI PC Developer Program, Intel has also welcomed independent hardware vendors (IHVs) into its AI PC Acceleration Program. This move allows IHVs to prepare, optimize, and enable their hardware specifically for Intel AI PCs. Qualified partners gain access to Intel’s Open Labs, where they receive technical support and co-engineering assistance during the early stages of hardware development. Furthermore, Intel provides reference hardware to qualified IHV partners, enabling them to test and optimize their technology for optimal efficiency upon launch.
Matt King, senior director of Client Hardware Ecosystem at Intel, highlighted the company’s progress in onboarding 150 hardware vendors worldwide into the AI PC Acceleration Program. Intel is excited to expand its innovative hardware and software solutions within its broad, open ecosystem of developers, aiming to elevate the AI PC experience to new heights.
Intel recognizes that AI will have a profound impact on various aspects of people’s lives, transforming how they work, learn, connect, and create. By offering optimized software and hardware powered by Intel’s platform, which includes central processing units, neural processing units, and graphics processing units, Intel aims to enable everyone to harness the benefits of AI through an AI PC. The company collaborates extensively across its broad ecosystem to deliver enhanced performance, productivity, innovation, and creativity to end users. Intel’s focus on driving advancements in the AI PC era while empowering ISVs and IHVs underscores its commitment to shaping the future of AI.
Intel’s programs provide developers with several key benefits. Firstly, improved compatibility ensures that software and apps run seamlessly on the latest Intel processors, enhancing the overall end-user experience. Secondly, performance optimization early in the development cycle leads to efficiency gains and better performance once AI PCs become widely available. Lastly, collaboration with Intel and its ecosystem of AI-enabled partners opens doors to expanded market opportunities and global scale, enabling developers to enter new markets and succeed across industries.
With a wide range of toolkits available for AI developers to leverage, Intel is poised to bring over 300 AI-accelerated features to market by 2024 through its Intel Core Ultra processors, which will be featured in 230 designs from 12 global original equipment manufacturers. By offering these comprehensive initiatives and resources, Intel is actively propelling the AI revolution forward while empowering developers to unlock the full potential of AI on Intel-based PCs.
