Edged Energy, a subsidiary of Endeavour focused on carbon neutral data center infrastructure, has launched its first four data centers in the United States. These facilities are specifically designed to handle high-density AI workloads and feature advanced waterless cooling and energy-efficient systems. With a combined critical capacity of over 300 MW and an impressive average Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of 1.15, Edged aims to lead the industry in sustainability.

Edged already has multiple data centers operational or under construction across Europe and North America, with a project pipeline reaching gigawatt-scale. The initial phase of its US expansion includes campuses in Atlanta (168 MW), the Chicago area (96 MW), Phoenix (36 MW), and Kansas City (24 MW). As water scarcity becomes a growing concern, Edged’s commitment to conserving water resources is commendable. These new facilities are projected to save over 1.2 billion gallons of water annually compared to conventional data centers.

Bryant Farland, CEO of Edged, emphasizes the increasing power and water demands of AI and machine learning. While traditional data centers struggle to adapt, Edged’s facilities are purpose-built for advanced computing without relying on water for cooling. The company’s dedication to sustainability is evident in its energy-efficient and water-conserving designs, ensuring a future-proof solution for a rapidly expanding digital economy.

All Edged data centers are equipped with the ThermalWorks waterless cooling system, capable of supporting the intense requirements of generative AI and advanced computing. This modular system can handle densities of up to 70 kW per rack with air cooling and up to 200 kW per rack with plug-and-play Liquid Cooling integration. Notably, this advanced technology reduces energy consumption by an impressive 74% compared to the global average PUE of 1.58 reported by the Uptime Institute.

Edged’s swift deployment of data centers is made possible by its fully integrated, modular system. By combining electrical and waterless mechanical elements and leveraging strong supply chain partnerships, the company can lower costs, accelerate construction timelines, and minimize environmental impacts.

Construction is currently underway for the new Edged data centers in Atlanta, Chicago, and Kansas City, with plans to open later this year. Additionally, the company expects to break ground on several more sites in major urban markets across the United States in the coming months.
