It’s worth noting that since the release of Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, Ninja Theory has undergone some changes, transitioning from an independent team to becoming part of Xbox Game Studios. This transition has brought about new opportunities and support, allowing us to strive towards our ambitions while maintaining our unwavering passion and commitment to crafting art with technology.

Now, you might be wondering what we mean by “Independent AAA.” Well, it’s a space we created for ourselves during the development of Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice. We aimed to combine the creative freedom of independent development with the high production values typically associated with AAA games. Additionally, we took advantage of digital-only distribution to deliver a shorter yet impactful experience at a lower price point. This approach allowed us to focus on what truly matters – taking our fans on an unforgettable journey into Senua’s extraordinary world.

With Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II, our approach remains the same. Despite no longer being an independent studio, joining Xbox Game Studios has actually emboldened our creative spirit. This new chapter in Senua’s life has provided us with the opportunity to push our production values even further than before.
