The IEC International Standards Promotion Center (Nanjing) and Huawei have joined forces to accelerate the digital transformation of the electric power industry in China. The two organizations have signed a strategic cooperation agreement, which will involve extensive collaboration across multiple fields.
Under the agreement, the IEC International Standards Promotion Center (Nanjing) and Huawei will engage in high-level visits and regular exchanges. They will hold consistent meetings to discuss the challenges and trends of digital transformation in the electric power industry, as well as how to address them. Additionally, they will establish a joint standards R&D mechanism to develop and promote relevant standards and regulations for power digitalization.
The signing of this agreement is a significant milestone in the partnership between the IEC International Standards Promotion Center (Nanjing) and Huawei. The center, established by the Standardization Administration of China (SAC) and the Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering (CSEE), aims to support Chinese and international institutions, enterprises, and experts in participating in IEC international standardization activities. Huawei, known for its close collaboration with over 190 power companies worldwide, actively supports and participates in standard-setting work to foster a healthy industrial ecosystem.
The agreement was signed by Fan Jianbin, Director General of the IEC International Standards Promotion Center (Nanjing), and David Sun, CEO of Huawei’s Electric Power Digitalization BU. Witnessing the signing were Shu Yinbiao, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, President of the Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering, and the 36th President of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), along with Guo Ping, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Huawei.
This collaboration between the IEC International Standards Promotion Center (Nanjing) and Huawei aims to contribute to the global power industry’s digitalization efforts. By sharing successful practices and experiences on a global scale, they hope to help the industry transition towards smart power solutions.
