  • Features an evolved cooling engine for effective heat management
  • Constructed with high-quality materials for durability and performance

EK, a leading Liquid Cooling gear manufacturer, has announced the release of two high-performance liquid cooling solutions for the IntelSierra Forest” processor family. The EK-Pro CPU WB 7529 and 7529 Rack water blocks are specifically designed to cool the Sierra Forest CPUs, which are Intel’s first-generation E-core Xeon server processors based on the LGA 7529 socket.

These CPUs, set to launch in the first half of 2024, boast an impressive 288 cores per socket, resulting in a remarkable 576 cores per server. With such a high core count, liquid cooling is a practical solution for effective heat management.

The Sierra Forest architecture aims to achieve ultra-high core counts for increased compute density, benefiting cloud and HPC server applications. However, this greater compute density also presents challenges for traditional air cooling methods.

The EK-Pro CPU WB 7529 water blocks feature an evolved cooling engine compared to their predecessors, designed to accommodate the larger surface area of the new Intel CPUs. These CPU water blocks are constructed with a precisely machined copper base (cold plate) and treated with nickel electroplating. The top is made of CNC-milled durable black POM Acetal, while the hold-down bracket is laser-cut stainless steel.

The EK-Pro CPU WB 7529 Ni + Acetal is a dedicated workstation-grade water block for Intel LGA 7529 processors. It features three standard G1/4″ threaded ports on the top and is suitable for workstations and taller server racks.

On the other hand, the EK-Pro CPU WB 7529 Rack Ni + Acetal is a dedicated server-grade water block with 1U rack compatibility. It offers four G1/8″ ports split into two sides for easier tube management and enhanced compatibility with low-profile racks.

The EK-Pro CPU WB 7529 water blocks are manufactured in Slovenia, Europe, and are available for pre-order through the EK Webshop. Shipping is expected to commence in late February 2024. The manufacturer-suggested retail price (MSRP), including VAT, is 179.90€ for both models.

Overall, EK’s new liquid cooling solutions provide an efficient and effective means of cooling the high-performance Sierra Forest CPUs, catering to the demands of cloud and HPC server applications.

Liquid Cooling: Liquid cooling is a technology used to cool down computer components, such as processors, graphics cards, and other components that generate a lot of heat. It works by circulating a liquid coolant, such as water or a special coolant, through a series of pipes and radiators. The liquid absorbs the heat from the components and then dissipates it into the air. This technology is becoming increasingly popular in the computer industry due to its ability to provide more efficient cooling than traditional air cooling methods. Liquid cooling can also be used to overclock components, allowing them to run at higher speeds than their rated speeds. This technology is becoming increasingly popular in the gaming industry, as it allows gamers to get the most out of their hardware.
