The Season of the Construct is coming to Diablo IV, featuring new Vaults to explore, a powerful Seneschal Companion, and a quest to stop the malevolent demon Malphas from using the Loom for evil purposes.
- Introduction of a new Dungeon type called Vaults
- New robotic Seneschal Companion to aid in battles
- Customization and enhancement options for the Seneschal Companion
Ancient forces are stirring in Sanctuary, and it’s up to you and your trusty Seneschal Companion to brave the treacherous traps and formidable Constructs lurking beneath the deserts of Kehjistan. Deep beneath the shifting sands, a malevolent demon named Malphas is gathering elemental forces for his nefarious purposes. To put an end to this cursed threat, you must venture deep below the surface and eradicate it at its source. The Season of the Construct is set to begin on January 23 at 10 a.m. PST, offering players the chance to uncover the powerful secrets of Zoltun Kulle’s Loom.
One of the highlights of this season is the introduction of a new Dungeon type called Vaults. These Vaults will test your skills and resilience as you navigate through hazardous environments and face off against deadly Constructs. But fear not, for a new robotic Seneschal Companion will be by your side, providing you with invaluable support and assistance in your battles.
The story of this season revolves around the Loom, an ancient technology created by Zoltun Kulle and Ayuzhan of Caldeum. Unfortunately, this powerful tool has fallen into the hands of evil forces, with the demon Malphas twisting it to serve his cruel desires. Ayuzhan, Zoltun’s former companion, will guide you through the treacherous Vaults in an attempt to stop Malphas and his deadly Constructs from taking over Sanctuary. Your base of operations in this fight against the Constructs is the Gatehall, a town center located beneath Kehjistan. From there, you’ll have access to the Vaults and their elemental Hazards and Constructs.
To fully harness the potential of the Loom and confront Malphas, you must create a new character on the Seasonal Realm and have completed the Main Campaign. However, if you’re eager to jump right into the action, you can take advantage of the Skip Main Campaign feature after completing the prologue.
A major feature of the Season of the Construct is the introduction of the Seneschal Companion. This powerful ally will aid you in battle, either by directly engaging in combat or providing support from the sidelines. Using magical Governing and Tuning Stones found in the Vaults and throughout Sanctuary, you can customize and enhance your Seneschal to complement your playstyle. Governing Stones determine the attacks your Seneschal can perform, while Tuning Stones augment those skills and provide additional utility. With a total of 12 Governing Stones and 27 different Tuning Stones to discover, there are plenty of options to unlock the full potential of your Seneschal construct.
You can acquire these Stones by completing Vaults, earning random Tuning Stones, and seeking out Wardwoven Chests for additional Tuning Stones. They can also be obtained as drops from enemy Constructs within the Vaults. To unlock their full power, you’ll need to level up the Stones by collecting or crafting duplicates and fusing them together. This increases their potency and ability, allowing for more devastating attacks and enhanced damage.
If you’re eager to learn more about the Season of the Construct and all its exciting features, mark your calendars for January 18 at 9 a.m. PST. The Diablo IV team will be hosting a Developer Update Livestream, where they’ll delve into the details of this season, including the Seneschal companion, Vaults, the Seasonal Questline, and more.
