Leaked Benchmarks Reveal Intel 1st Gen Core Ultra 5’s Impressive Speed, Comparable to AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS
Intel is gearing up to launch its highly anticipated 1st Gen Core Ultra processors, and leaked benchmarks suggest that these midrange products might be the best Intel has had in over a decade. The benchmark in question is for the Core Ultra 5 125H, and it shows that Intel’s latest chip is on par with AMD’s Ryzen 7 7840HS, despite a lower production skew.
In the Cinebench R20 “nT” benchmark, the 1st Gen Core Ultra 5 125H falls only 10% behind the Ryzen 7 7840HS, scoring an impressive 5690 points compared to the latter’s 6309 points. A similar performance gap is observed in the R23 “nT” benchmark, where the 125H achieves 14,771 points versus the 7840HS’s 16,473 points.
However, it’s in the graphics benchmarks where Intel’s Meteor Lake truly shines. The Core Ultra 5 125H outperforms AMD’s Phoenix Point products by a significant margin. In TimeSpy, Intel’s chip scores 3,548 points, surpassing the Ryzen 7 7840HS’s 3,007 points and leaving the Core i5-13500H far behind with a mere 1,530 points. This translates to an impressive 18% lead for the Core Ultra 5 125H, despite being the lowest-end chip in the lineup. FireStrike tells a similar story, with the Core Ultra 5 125H boasting a 12% advantage over its AMD counterpart. The former achieved a score of 9,095 points, while the latter managed only 8,543 points. The Core i5-13500H, once again, lags behind with a score of 5,303 points in the same rendering test.
These leaked benchmarks have certainly raised expectations for Intel’s 1st Gen Core Ultra processors. If the performance of the Core Ultra 5 125H is any indication, Intel might be reclaiming its position as a serious contender in the CPU market. As enthusiasts eagerly await the official launch, it remains to be seen how these chips will fare in real-world scenarios and whether they can truly deliver on their promising benchmark results.
