Kioxia Corporation, a leading player in the memory solutions market, has announced the availability of its KIOXIA RM7 Series Value SAS SSDs in Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s (HPE) ProLiant Gen11 servers. These SSDs, belonging to the latest generation of Kioxia’s 12 Gb/s Value SAS SSDs, offer server applications enhanced performance, reliability, and lower Latency compared to SATA SSDs. Notably, they deliver higher input/output operations per second per watt (IOPS/W) and per dollar (IOPS/$).

The KIOXIA RM Series Value SAS SSDs have already made their mark in the HPE Spaceborne Computer-2 (SBC-2) program. As part of this initiative, Kioxia’s SSDs are deployed in HPE Edgeline and HPE ProLiant servers within a controlled environment to conduct scientific experiments aboard the International Space Station (ISS). The KIOXIA RM7 Series Value SAS SSDs boast impressive features. With a 12 Gb/s SAS interface (SAS-3) and single-port configuration, they offer capacities ranging from 960 gigabytes to a staggering 7.68 terabytes. Customers can choose between endurance options of 1 drive write per day (DWPD) or 3 DWPD. These SSDs exhibit remarkable random read performance of up to 190,000 IOPS (4K @ 512 queue depth) and sequential read performance of up to 1,100 megabytes/second (128K). Furthermore, they come equipped with Sanitize Instant Erase (SIE) functionality for fast and secure cryptographic erase.
