The tech giants Huawei and Sharp have announced a new long-term global patent cross-licensing agreement, focusing on Cellular Standard Essential Patents, including 4G and 5G. Alan Fan, Head of Huawei’s Intellectual Property Department, expressed his delight at the agreement, stating that it represents mutual recognition of intellectual property and promotes collaboration in developing advanced technical standards. Mototaka Taneya, Executive Managing Officer, Chief Technical Officer, and Head of R&D at Sharp, also expressed satisfaction with the agreement. He highlighted that the agreement was reached under fair, reasonable, and non-discriminatory conditions, reflecting the high value both parties place on each other’s intellectual property.
