Greenliant introduces budget-friendly VX Series eMMC SSDs with impressive performance and endurance ratings, while also enhancing their EX and MX Series for industrial applications.

  • Expanded product lineup with budget-friendly options
  • Wide temperature range for reliable operation
  • High endurance ratings for durability and reliability

Greenliant, a leading provider of solid state drive (SSD) solutions, has expanded its product lineup with the introduction of the budget-friendly VX Series. This new series offers customers a wider range of reliable eMMC SSD options.

The eMMC NANDrive VX Series features a 153-ball package and utilizes high-quality 3-bit-per-cell (TLC) NAND technology. It is available in three capacities: 16 GB, 32 GB, and 64 GB, making it suitable for various applications. Additionally, these SSDs are designed to operate in a wide temperature range, from -25 to +85 degrees Celsius.

In terms of performance, the VX Series delivers impressive sequential read/write speeds of up to 318/227 MB/s. It also boasts a endurance rating of 3,000 program-erase (P/E) cycles, ensuring reliability and durability.

Arthur Kroyan, Vice President of Business Development and Marketing at Greenliant, emphasized the affordability and exceptional performance of the VX Series. He stated that these SSDs are specifically tailored to meet the diverse needs of industrial, networking, point-of-sale (POS), and transportation applications.

Greenliant has also enhanced its eMMC NANDrive EX Series by incorporating EnduroSLC Technology. This upgrade allows the EX Series to achieve even higher endurance levels, catering to demanding data retention requirements. The high endurance models in the EX Series now offer P/E cycles of 75,000, 150,000, and an industry-leading 400,000, respectively. These SSDs are ideal for write-intensive workloads and extreme temperature environments, operating between -40 and +85 degrees Celsius.

The eMMC NANDrive EX Series is available in two package options: 100-ball (2 GB-4 GB) and 153-ball (2 GB-32 GB). Furthermore, Greenliant’s Long-Term Availability (LTA) program ensures that the EX Series SSDs are included for up to 10 years, making them suitable for extended lifetime applications.

The MX Series, part of the eMMC NANDrive portfolio, is designed for industrial temperature conditions ranging from -40°C to +85°C. These SSDs utilize 2-bit-per-cell (MLC) NAND technology and are available in 100-ball (8 GB) and 153-ball (8 GB-64 GB) packages. With an endurance rating of 5,000 P/E cycles, the MX Series provides reliable performance for demanding applications.

Greenliant is currently offering samples of the eMMC NANDrive VX Series to customers, with volume production expected to begin in January 2024. The eMMC NANDrive EX Series with increased endurance ratings is already shipping. For more information on Greenliant’s eMMC NANDrive SSDs, visit their website.

Technology Explained

NAND: NAND technology is a type of non-volatile memory that is used in many computer applications. It is a type of flash memory that is used to store data in a non-volatile manner, meaning that the data is not lost when the power is turned off. NAND technology is used in many computer applications, such as solid-state drives, USB flash drives, digital cameras, and memory cards. It is also used in many embedded systems, such as cell phones, tablets, and other consumer electronics. NAND technology is a reliable and cost-effective way to store data, making it a popular choice for many computer applications.

SSD: A Solid State Drive (SSD) is a modern data storage device that employs flash memory technology to store data electronically. Unlike traditional hard disk drives (HDDs), SSDs have no moving parts, resulting in significantly faster read and write speeds. This leads to quicker boot times, faster application loading, and smoother overall system performance. SSDs are known for their durability, shock resistance, and energy efficiency, making them ideal for laptops, ultrabooks, and other portable devices. They come in various form factors, including 2.5-inch, M.2, and PCIe cards, and are favored for their reliability, quiet operation, and reduced heat generation
