  • AMD's Anti-Lag+ technology is exclusive to the Radeon RX 7000 series.
  • NVIDIA Reflex technology is incorporated into the game itself.
  • Valve may consider lifting the bans when AMD provides an update for this technology.

AMD’s latest technology, Anti-Lag+, has hit a snag when it comes to Counter Strike 2 players. It seems that utilizing this feature can lead to a ban in the game. AMD introduced the 23.10.1 driver, which allowed players to access Anti-Lag+ in Counter Strike 2. However, it has now been confirmed that tampering with the game’s code using this technology can result in a VAC ban.

Counter Strike 2, which was launched just this month, has garnered attention from major GPU manufacturers, each offering dedicated graphics drivers. AMD’s recent release included Anti-Lag+, a feature exclusive to the Radeon RX 7000 series. This feature aims to enhance responsiveness by optimizing frame alignment within the game’s code.

Unfortunately, it has been discovered that manipulating DLL functions with AMD’s technology can trigger a VAC ban. Valve, the developer of Counter Strike 2, may consider lifting the bans only when AMD provides an update for this technology. Until then, it is advised not to enable Anti-Lag+ in the game.

It’s worth noting that Anti-Lag+ is an improved technology that specifically works on Radeon RX 7000 series and RDNA3 based products. While it is available in multiple games, Counter Strike 2 is the only one that has reported issues with its implementation. The game also supports nVidia Reflex technology, but unlike Anti-Lag+, Reflex is incorporated into the game itself.
