In preparation for the highly anticipated release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III on November 10, the Call of Duty: Next event treated fans to a preview of the exciting content that awaits them across multiple game modes and titles. The event kicked off with an in-depth look at the Multiplayer and Zombies modes in Modern Warfare III, followed by major announcements for Call of Duty: Warzone and Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile. This event is a fitting celebration of Call of Duty’s 20th anniversary.

But that’s not all! Immediately after Call of Duty: Next, military esports teams from the U.S., U.K., and Canada will join top Call of Duty streamers to compete in the Call Of Duty Endowment Bowl IV presented by USAA. The winning team will not only take home the C.O.D.E. Bowl Trophy but also earn bragging rights for their respective military service branch.

Let’s dive into the details of what was revealed about Modern Warfare III’s Multiplayer mode. Sledgehammer Games developers Greg Reisdorf, Adam Iscove, and Kim Weigend took the stage to showcase a selection of maps, modes, and new features that will be available in the game. As a special treat for fans, Modern Warfare III includes all 16 launch maps from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009), giving players a nostalgic experience.

The developers have put great effort into modernizing these classic maps while staying true to what made them special in the first place. The showcased gameplay demonstrated how the maps have been graphically enhanced while maintaining their original essence. Players got to experience various game modes like Team Deathmatch, Domination, Hardpoint, and Kill Confirmed, showcasing the compatibility of these classic maps with modern gameplay mechanics.

But the excitement doesn’t stop there. Sledgehammer Games confirmed that new Ground War maps and a War mode map will be available on Day One, with more details to come. And in post-launch seasons, players can expect at least 12 new Core 6v6 maps, including three all-new maps in Season 01 and three more in Season 02.

The developers also discussed the returning fan-favorite elements in Modern Warfare III, such as Map Voting, the classic minimap with red dots indicating enemy positions, Dead Silence for silent movement, and increased health for a longer Time-to-Kill (TTK).

When it comes to movement and combat changes, Modern Warfare III offers fast and responsive movement, allowing players to swiftly navigate the map. Tactical improvements like canceling slide and reload animations, faster mantling of objects while sprinting, and the ability to fire immediately while sliding add a new level of fluidity to the gameplay. The introduction of Tac-Stance, a middle ground between hip fire and ADS, provides a balance between mobility and accuracy.

Weapons and Operators play a crucial role in Call of Duty games, and Modern Warfare III introduces new ones while also allowing players to carry forward their inventory from Modern Warfare II. The addition of Aftermarket Parts gives players the ability to dramatically alter weapon functionality beyond traditional attachments, offering unique customization options. New equipment like the Breacher Drone, Mosquito Drone, A.C.S., and Comm Scrambler adds exciting gameplay dynamics.

In terms of game modes, alongside the classic 6v6 Core matches, Modern Warfare III introduces the new Cutthroat mode, providing intense 3v3v3 action on Core Multiplayer maps. Ground War makes a return for players who enjoy large-scale battles, while War mode offers a purpose-built landscape with linear engagements and a series of objectives.

And finally, the event revealed that Zombies will be fully featured in the Modern Warfare universe for the first time. In this iteration, players will cooperate in an open-world PvE setting, facing off against hordes of undead and enemy forces in terrifying environments. With new features like vehicle support, increased enemy density, and the ability to store and use weapons from previous matches, Zombies promises an immersive and replayable experience.

Call of Duty: Next has given fans a taste of what’s to come in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III. With its impressive collection of maps, exciting gameplay features, and the inclusion of Zombies, the game is shaping up to be a thrilling addition to the franchise. Fans can look forward to the game’s release on November 10 and celebrate 20 years of Call of Duty in style.
