Samsung Electronics has announced the release of its latest lineup of the T-series, the Portable Solid State Drive (SSD) T9. The T9 is designed to keep data safe while on-the-go, offering fast transfer speeds and ample storage. With advances in high-resolution photos and the popularity of 4K videos, professionals face the challenge of transferring large amounts of data frequently. The T9 provides a solution for professionals to manage their data and focus on their creative potential.
The T9 offers maximum sequential read/write speeds of 2,000 megabytes-per-second (MB/s) on the USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 interface, making it approximately two times faster than the previous model T7. This allows users to transfer a 4-Gigabyte (GB) Full HD video in nearly two seconds. The T9 comes in three different capacity options – 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB – to suit the needs of creators. Its compact size, similar to a credit card, enables creators to carry their inspiration wherever they go without limitations.
In terms of design, the T9 combines functionality with unique design benefits. It follows the “luxury added to ruggedness” concept based on the “rugged” design of the T7 Shield. The curved diagonal lines and reverse carbon patterns on the surface give the T9 a luxurious feel.
The Portable SSD T9 is built with unmatched reliability and thermal control. It is resistant to drops of up to three meters high and comes with a five-year limited warranty. The T9’s sturdy design ensures data safety and empowers users to pursue ambitious projects. Samsung’s Dynamic Thermal Guard minimizes performance drops caused by overheating, ensuring consistent and fast transfer speeds. The T9 is also designed in compliance with the international safety standard IEC 62368-1, making it suitable for demanding tasks with minimal heat transfer.
Users can manage the T9 with Samsung Magician Software 8.0, which provides enhanced features such as performance benchmarking, security functions, firmware updates, and real-time health status checks. The software integrates all Samsung software, including data migration and card authentication tools, for user convenience.
The T9 is designed for seamless compatibility with various devices and operating systems. It meets the USB Type-C power spec and supports the workflow of professional creators across Windows, macOS, smartphones, Tablets, gaming consoles, and high-resolution cameras. The T9 comes with USB Type C-to-C and USB Type C-to-A cables.
The Samsung Portable SSD T9 will be available worldwide on October 3, 2023, with prices starting at $139.99 for the 1TB model, $239.99 for the 2TB model, and $439.99 for the 4TB model.

Technology Explained
SSD: A Solid State Drive (SSD) is a modern data storage device that employs flash memory technology to store data electronically. Unlike traditional hard disk drives (HDDs), SSDs have no moving parts, resulting in significantly faster read and write speeds. This leads to quicker boot times, faster application loading, and smoother overall system performance. SSDs are known for their durability, shock resistance, and energy efficiency, making them ideal for laptops, ultrabooks, and other portable devices. They come in various form factors, including 2.5-inch, M.2, and PCIe cards, and are favored for their reliability, quiet operation, and reduced heat generation
