MSI has officially launched their Project Zero motherboards with hidden power connectors, featuring a unique design that relocates all power and interface connectors to the rear of the board for a cleaner and more organized setup, with a specific chassis and their own case, the MSI MAG PANO 100, to accommodate this design.
- Unique and innovative design
- Cleaner and more organized setup
- Compatibility with advanced connectivity standards
MSI has finally made their Project Zero motherboards with hidden power connectors official. This unique approach of hiding power and interface connectors on the opposite side of the motherboard is not entirely new, as other manufacturers like ASUS and Gigabyte have embraced similar designs in the past. MSI had previously showcased prototypes based on the Intel Z690 chipset, but they never made it to an official product release.
Now, MSI has introduced their latest series with the launch of the AMD B650M and Intel B760M mid-range motherboards. These motherboards feature a cleaner front design by relocating all power connectors, fan connectors, and pin headers to the rear of the board. This arrangement simplifies cable management and results in a neater and more organized setup with no visible cables.
It’s important to note that this design requires a specific chassis that can accommodate these concealed connectors and route cables accordingly. While the DIY-APE case program has been available for some time, MSI is set to launch their own case, the MSI MAG PANO 100, which will be available in black and white designs.
The exact release date for both the motherboards and cases has not been disclosed by MSI, but they are expected to become available on store shelves concurrently.
In addition to the B650M and B760M motherboards, MSI is also developing a high-end Z790 motherboard as part of the Project Zero series. This motherboard will be compatible with WiFi 7, making it the first of its kind to feature hidden power connectors while supporting this advanced connectivity standard.
