Intel has launched its Core Ultra 9 processors, with the first model, the 185H, making its appearance in the public domain. This leak comes ahead of the scheduled December 14th launch, and it confirms that the Core Ultra 9 185H will feature 16 cores and 22 threads, with a turbo clock speed of up to 5.1 GHz. These specifications align with earlier speculations following Intel’s announcement of its upcoming Core CPU branding transformation.
The leak originated from the Geekbench website, which has become a popular source for Intel-related leaks. However, the platform used for the CPU test is not specified, leaving room for the possibility that it was conducted on an early evaluation platform or an upcoming laptop.
The test utilized the older Geekbench V5.4 software, for which ranking data is no longer maintained by the developer. Nevertheless, there are several review sites, including Notebookcheck, that have conducted comprehensive testing and provided relevant information. The Core Ultra 9 185H falls short in comparison to high-end AMD and Intel processors, with a single-core score ranging from 1773 to 1849 and a multi-core score ranging from 9787 to 9832.
In addition to the Core Ultra 9 185H, a recent leak also introduced the Ultra 5 135H, which features 14 cores and 18 threads, with an expected boost capability of around 4.4 GHz. These leaks have helped complete the specifications sheet for these models, including base and boost clock speeds, as well as core specifications. It’s worth noting that the 185H’s base clock of 2.5 GHz is significantly lower than other parts, but it remains unclear if this is due to an early CPU sample or a final clock speed.
While all Meteor Lake CPUs are expected to be fully presented this year, the Core Ultra 9 185H is likely to be available starting next year. This premium part is expected to be utilized by laptop manufacturers unveiling new products at CES 2024.
