Sparkle has made its mark in the US market with the debut of the A310 ELF, the first consumer A310 to reach American shores. Originally intended for the Chinese market as an OEM component, the Arc A310 is now available for DIY sales through Newegg, thanks to Sparkle’s exclusive partnership with Intel.
The Sparkle Arc A310 ELF is the entry-level offering in the company’s product lineup. With just 6 Xe-Cores and a 64-bit memory bus supporting 4GB of capacity, it’s not designed for gaming purposes. However, it does come with AV1 encoding support, making it a useful companion for primary GPUs that don’t require an immediate upgrade.
Unfortunately, the current price tag for this card is set at $109.99, which may not be the most favorable for gamers. The RX 6500 XT, often considered the benchmark for entry-level GPUs, is already 10-40% faster than the Arc A380, which has a more powerful configuration with 8 Xe-Cores. Considering that the A310 only has 6 Xe-Cores, it’s clear that it will be even slower in comparison.
Interestingly, the design of the A310 differs from the leaked version in August, which featured a dual-fan configuration. The current offering features a single-fan Mini-ITX design, similar to the A380 ELF cooler.
It’s worth noting that while this A310 is the first of its kind in the US consumer market, Matrox offers a professional LUMA video card based on the same SKU. However, the Matrox card serves a different purpose, specifically designed for multi-display support and fanless operation in embedded systems like medical applications and video walls.
