The Wukong-Huahua AI Fine-Tuning and Application Competition, organized by the open source MindSpore Community, is now accepting participants. With a prize pool of 50,000 RMB, the competition will run until October 18 and is open to AI developers worldwide.
Contestants can choose between the Fine-Tuning Competition or the Application Competition, both based on the Wukong-Huahua Foundation model. Winners will not only receive prizes and certificates but will also have the opportunity to attend Huawei’s science fiction forum in Chengdu, China later this year.
The competition’s theme is “Science Fiction and Creativity,” with three sub-themes: “The Symbiosis Era,” “Science Fiction China,” and “extracts from your favorite science fiction works.” Participants are required to fine-tune the Wukong-Huahua model to create artificial intelligence generated content (AIGC) works or develop applications based on the model. The works or applications must align with one of the three sub-themes. This competition aims to inspire science fiction enthusiasts and new AIGC developers to utilize AI in crafting their own science fiction universes.
The Wukong-Huahua Foundation model is a powerful diffusion model capable of generating images from Chinese text. It was collaboratively developed by three Huawei teams, including Noah’s Ark Laboratory, Central Software Institute’s distributed parallel lab, and the Ascend Computing Domain. The model combines the MindSpore AI framework and Ascend Atlas hardware. Trained on the Wukong Dataset, the largest multi-modal, Chinese, and open source dataset, it exhibits exceptional Chinese text-to-image generation capabilities, producing high-quality images depicting various scenes in diverse styles for an enhanced user experience.
Hu Xiaoman, Huawei’s MindSpore Community Operations Director, expressed, “MindSpore is an open, efficient, and flexible AI framework that is developer-friendly. Since its open-source release in 2020, over 1.98 million developers have joined the MindSpore Community. In addition to driving technological innovation, our MindSpore team is dedicated to fostering continuous learning within the community. Through this competition, we aim to attract more developers to join the community and collectively promote the development of the domestic AI framework.”
MindSpore is a open-source AI framework that covers device, edge, and cloud scenarios. Its objective is to enhance the AI ecosystem by establishing new AI programming paradigms, reducing the entry barrier for developers, and creating an efficient and flexible framework that simplifies development.
Since its launch in 2022, the MindSpore Foundation Model Platform has hosted over 10 MindSpore Community competitions, encompassing AI image classification, text classification, style transfer, AIGC, and other domains. These competitions have provided exceptional opportunities for more than 900 AI developers to showcase their talents and skills.
