Samsung Electronics has announced its new flagship UHS-I memory card, the PRO Ultimate, designed to enhance productivity for professional photographers and content creators. The PRO Ultimate lineup offers up to 512GB of storage capacity and an impressive sequential read speed of up to 200MB/s.
The increasing demand for high-resolution content from devices such as drones, action cameras, and DSLR cameras requires memory cards that can seamlessly handle large-sized files. Samsung’s PRO Ultimate meets this need with enhanced controller technologies and multi-proof protection features.
The PRO Ultimate sets a new industry standard with read speeds of up to 200MB/s and write speeds of 130MB/s, making it ideal for transferring heavy-duty files like 4K UHD and Full HD videos. The microSD card also features an Application Performance Class 2 (A2) for high performance in random read and write operations.
In terms of reliability and durability, the PRO Ultimate incorporates an enhanced Error Correction Code (ECC) engine and multi-proof protection features. The ECC’s Low Density Parity Check (LDPC) code offers improved durability for a higher volume of write-and-erase cycles. The card is also water-resistant for up to 72 hours in two meters of depth, drop-proof from heights of up to five meters, and can withstand extreme temperatures.
The PRO Ultimate microSD card is power-efficient, thanks to its 28nm controller, which provides a 37% improvement in power efficiency compared to previous Samsung lines. This allows users to use their devices for extended periods without frequent recharging.
The PRO Ultimate SD card is compatible with DSLR and mirrorless cameras, camcorders, PCs, Laptops, and more, making it versatile for various devices. The microSD card offers extensive compatibility with Android smartphones, Tablets, handheld game consoles, action cameras, drones, PCs, and more.
