ASRock, one of the leading board partners, has caught the attention of tech enthusiasts with their latest addition to their product lineup – the low-profile GPU based on Intel’s Alchemist architecture, the Intel ARC A310. This GPU is positioned as Intel’s entry-level offering within the Alchemist lineup and features the ACM-G11 GPU with only 6 Xe Cores enabled.
Interestingly, this is not ASRock’s first venture into low-profile Arc GPUs, as they have previously introduced the A380 model, which bears a striking resemblance to the A310. Given that both cards are built on the same GPU, ASRock has opted to incorporate the same dual-fan cooling solution.
The primary target audience for these Graphics Cards includes Small Form Factor (SFF) builds, servers, and systems that require cost-effective AV1 encoding capabilities. Additionally, the A310 model boasts compatibility with DisplayPort 2.0 and HDMI 2.0b (excluding HDMI 2.1). While the presence of DisplayPort 2.1 offers some level of future-proofing, it’s worth noting that there are currently limited options for DP2.0/2.1 monitors in the market, with only a few exceptions like the Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 or Dell U3224KB, both priced at a hefty $2,499.
ASRock’s A310 does not support overclocking and operates at a standard 2.0 GHz GPU clock. Furthermore, it does not require an external power connector and solely relies on the 75W power supplied by the PCIe slot, which also represents the card’s Total Board Power (TBP).
Equipped with 4GB of GDDR6 memory connected via a 64-bit memory bus, the A310 offers a slight reduction compared to its higher-end counterpart, the Arc A310 model based on the full ACM-G11 GPU with 8 Xe-Cores.
Although ASRock’s A310 low-profile card has yet to appear in retailer listings, it is expected to be more readily available in prebuilt or OEM systems rather than on the shelves of traditional retailers.
